āI donāt know anything about guitar, Iām not a trained musician, I canāt read music, I donāt know what these chords areā proceeds to write one of the most iconic songs of all time. Rock on Dave.
Wow! I gotta admit guys, I never thought my comment would get this kind of response. Iām just happy to know everybody is such a fan. Hereās to many more years of Foo!

Itās funny how we can take a song and it can mean something so different in our lives. The first time I heard this was on the hour long drive to Torontoās Sick Kids Hospital, after 3.5 years our daughter was having her final chemo. āCould anything ever be this good againā ā¦ hubby and I smiled while our daughter and our son (10 months younger than our girl) sang the Do do do's in the backseat. It was our victory song! That same little girl is a beautiful and brilliant 31 year old who's getting married in October (to a drummer š¤·š¼āāļøš), we'll have a family dance to āour songā¦ Everlong š thanks Dave ā¤ļø!

Went to a mental institution for like a month when I was 15. Iād spend all my time in the main room hovering over the little radio they had. I wouldnāt let anyone change the station 103.9. Iād wait each day for em to play this beautiful song and Iād feel way better than all the meds they ever gave me ever did. This was right when it came out. And the acoustic version is the best!

The acoustic version gave us chills hearing it on the stern show way back then we included it in my daughter's funeral, because at this tone it really felt like a sad but beautiful description of our brief trip here together in the physical ā¤we were planning to take her to see Dave that same year but she didn't stay long enough. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful song with the world

My dad passed recently and he always would play you guys music in the car with me when I was young. We'd ride around blaring various songs of yours while he yelled the words and drummed on his steering wheel. With the loss of him I have come back to your music and it has helped me a lot. This song really makes me remember the good times I had with my dad. Thank you Dave and the rest. <3

I sat next to Dave on a flight from Seattle to LA once. It was my first time flying alone, I was probably 12 or 13, and I was very nervous. At this point I had no clue who the Foo Fighters or Nirvana were, so I literally had no clue who he was. He could tell I was super uneasy, so he talked to me and was super reassuring, asking me my name and introducing himself, just generally being a really friendly guy. He talked about how he played music, but never mentioned the bands, and never really played up how famous he was. He helped me get my carryon out of the luggage compartment and told me to have a fun time as I was going to disneyland with my uncle who lived in irvine, and that was it. I saw a couple people ask him for a picture when we got off the plane, but I never realized who he was until a year or so later when I mentioned a "Dave" who played music and took some pictures with people to some friends who asked me if it was him, and it just blew my mind. Really, really genuine guy, and an experience I'll never forget.
