The first time I heard this song, I was hooked and had it on repeat. It was making me sad and depressed to the point of bawling and I could not figure out why because I didn't have someone I was in love with and missing romantically. It didn't matter my mood, when this came on I'd just get depressed and sad AF.
Then it hit me that this song felt like I was talking to the greif of losing my mother when I was 7 because there's no getting over that. Even the "sharing songs and cigarettes" because she took me to my first concert (Jackson 5) when I was a kid and I'd have those candy cigs and she smoked Kool brand ones. I FUCKING love this song even if it makes me sad.
