Does anyone still watch WWE Main Event in 2023? WWE Main Event first started in 2012 as a secondary show airing on ION Television. Nowadays though, Main Event is nothing but a glorified house show/recap show, WWE barely promotes it, doesn’t ever acknowledge it and once again does anybody actually watch it?

I was hoping they’d rebrand main event on YouTube for free weekly shows and have low card rivals. Kinda like how heat and velocity was like in the 2000s

I think the main reason anybody watches Main Event now a days is to see those matches between Main Roster and NXT talent. Those are usually pretty interesting like the Dolph Ziggler VS Tyler Bate match. They tour the house down with that one because of course they did. I think they should do more stuff like that along with featuring lower level talent that don't get TV time and also let the wrestlers go wild with it. Main Event doesn't need to be some super over produced show, just let the wrestlers work and have fun. That would bring in viewership especially if they let the wrestlers promote themselves like you said

I remember when I started watching WWE Superstars. This show got me into wrestling on weekly basis. I didn't have a cable TV that had Raw nor SmackDown so I had to stick to Superstars. The Feud between Christian vs Dolph/Chavo is what made a youngster tune in. I know it was basic heel vs babyface dynamic but it worked with some underrated star power

Just like Superstars, Heat and Velocity before it, Main Event is just a warm up show for the live crowd. It was never supposed to be a big show like Raw or Smackdown, but I think it's more to give their NXT wrestlers a feel for the bigger crowds and TV.

2014 was the last time Main Event was relevant. Back when they show big stars like Wyatt, Ambrose, Rollins, Randy, Punk and so on.

Im one of those few people who usually watch the Main Event and the truth is that the show is usually something entertaining on occasions, there are fights in the Main Event that have been forgotten, such as the rivalry that Ali & Ricochet had in 2021, the appearances of Jeff Hardy in 2021 , WWE should put 4 fights back on the show so they can get more out of their full roster they have and in the same way they should let SmackDown wrestlers compete in the show as it was before the Draft in 2016

My favorite match in Main Event history was when then WWE Champion, CM Punk, wrestled then World Heavyweight Champion, Sheamus.
Man, I remember Main Event was as big, if not, bigger than WWF Superstars or Wrestling Challenge.

I think the show is just meant for enhancement talent and young guys to get reps in. However, it can also be seen as a platform where they can get themselves over with the audience or people in the back.
