Since AEW spawned in 2019 there have obviously been many debuts in the company. I remember a time when there were debuts damn near every week and we were constantly wondering who was gonna turn up in AEW next. And with the amount of debuts that have happened in AEW, itā€™s natural that a few of them were gonna fall flat.

The problem with AEW is they expect its viewers to be savvy and read the dirt sheets and follows wrestling news. Never once have the announcers explained who these new wrestlers are or give any backstory tobthe casual audience. They just expect the audience to know.

AEW when a new wrestling fan doesn't know about a guy who only wrestled 3 TNA matches in 2014:šŸ˜²šŸ˜²šŸ˜²šŸ˜²šŸ˜²

Man Matt Sydel had the worst debut ever has the shooting star botch happened, but it didnā€™t hurt his career. He still continues to be a great top guy at the indies.

I think the problem with some AEW debuts is that where WWE tend to have the commentators say itā€™s that guy he was a champion in Japan or wherever Where as the AEW commentators say nothing because I think they have the idea that their audience is more smart fans but it isnā€™t the case all of the time

The major problem with aew is that tony signs all these goof indie guys that unless you are deep in the indie scene, you have absolutely no clue who these people are and he acts like they are a big deal.

Starting out AEW was just throwing out debut after debut and most of them only worked if you were a big indy fan. I popped for Butcher and Blade but most people didn't know them. For someone like Luther there should have been promos and maybe backstage shenanigans to set up his debut. The one thing that killed the Minions in Dark Order was the night they attacked Dustin and one minion held back his punches too much and it was caught on camera.

Excalibur really went over the top for Luther's debut. "He's a legend in Japan!!" then quickly got nuked on Twitter when they did their homework on him (Luthor)

Allie in AEW is possibly one of the most wasted potential. So over in Impact it was insane. Impact wasn't even on basic TV but Allie was a household name damn near. She gets to AEW and has a great showing in the beginning but is thrown into the faction with Butcher & The Blade and now it's all she is.

Jade Cargill, she looked amazing but that promo and Cornette/Brian ripping it apart is a real go-to laugh-fest

It's funny how when AEW first started, I was happy that there was a alternative to WWE & I was able to see some of the guys I've never seen before in action e.g. Jungle Boy & Hikaru Shida, but as time went on & soon WWE had done those mass releases, it felt like Tony was more interested in signing ex-WWE guys than those from the indies & the more people Tony signed, the more people would get pushed aside & either was working the Dark/Elevation shows or only come back for a odd show. There's guys that's on the AEW roster that I sometimes forget are still signed to AEW as well.

I do love how the Dark Order showed that even if your debut isnā€™t great, thereā€™s still hope that you can build a strong fanbase and get great stories.

Dark order debut would've been great if there was some build up. That chair of creepers was pretty kool.

I think the Nightmare collective also ended due to Kong being unable to wrestle anymore due to her cumulative back injuries ...a story that they had actually used while she was on GLOW ...And Luther I admit looked like a shaved Gangrel
