"We can compete with WWE like WCW did, we better sign all the old WCW guys bc that worked so well the first time"

The removal of the 6-sided ring was the death of TNA. They took away their defining characteristic and after that, the WCW Doom Squad's gall finished the job.

I still think that one of the biggest blows to TNA was the departure of AJ Styles in late 2013.

I remember I accidentally found tna in 2006 while flipping channels. It was the day after wwe great American bash. I turned the channel and saw a familiar face. It was Christian. Then rhino and Tomko also came out. A lot of wwe former stars helped draw me to the company. I watched the growth of the company for the next 5 years, and then all of sudden, all the magic just fell off for me.

As someone who grew up a big TNA fan in the 2000s, it’s so sad to see the downwards spiral they went on throughout the 2010s decade and how irrelevant they are now. They exist the same way MySpace still exists.

Abys was offered WWE and a feud with The Undertaker, but he knocked it back as he wanted to be part of a company that was being built, prob regrets that now.

The heart of TNA were the X division and Knockout division, once Hogan got involve he buried the heart of TNA. I stopped watching after that

My heart still breaks when I think of TNA hiring the retirement center, and moving to Mondays. All they needed to do was what they were. Have a few WWE players (Angle, and Christian Cage) Then build talent of your own. The whole reason people fell in love with them was because you saw rising stars, and overlooked talent. Also getting rid of the six sided ring was the nail in the coffin. The six sided ring was what drew people in, and made people stop flipping when it popped on your TV. Man 2004 to 2008 TNA was awesome. It looks like they are doing decent now, and building back up. We will never see the success they had in the spike days again. Frankly I don’t consider Impact today as the same promotion.

Imagine if Angle had stayed in WWE and just took a lil time off to go to rehab. I believe going to TNA only enabled him to destroy himself.

My thing is, why would you bring in ppl that already killed one wrestling company to run yours? Yeah they beat wwe for a min but they still lost. I'd wanna be nothing like wcw or WWE, I hope aew keeps doing there own thing

I remember stumbling on TNA on some random sports channel (not espn), and got hooked. I remeber it was at like 3 pm so after school I'd rush to watch. I was hyped when they went to spike tv. I was one of the people that saw TNA on that monday night war and continued until the left spike. I never found those channels they went to. That's when TNA died to me.

The biggest takeaway I got from this is not how far TNA has fallen but how far RAW has fallen since then in ratings.

They had great story lines and matches from about 2004-2007. AJ Styles vs Christopher Daniels vs Samoa Joe for the X division title was awesome, Samoa Joe's Undefeated streak leading to him vs Kurt Angle too. Christian winning the NWA title for the first time those were great days of TNA

I do agree that Tara was amazing in TNA. The best part is, I actually met her last year and took a photo with her. I even asked her which company she believed treated her better. She said TNA was better. She's a sweetheart and I hope she's doing well.

Vince Russo killed two different wrestling companies and probably would've killed WWE too if Cornette, JR, and McMahon hadn't been there to keep him on a leash. He is to wrestling what Alex Kurtzman is to Star Trek.

You left out that Russo also had a hand in TNA Getting kicked off of Destination American and later admitted it on his podcast before eventually deleting said podcast.
