I don't know how all those small talks and childish acts of immaturity led me wanting this to last more than the contract. More than the friendship we made- much more intimate than the professional wall of distance. This might be something fate planned to make a joke of everything, make me regret more. "I have a question for you." I turned to her, a wide mischievous grin on her face, the look she gets before she does something I will disapprove of. I bet I know what she's doing... The reprimanding look I gave her does nothing, "If this is one of your jokes, I'm not entertaining them," after I said that, she had the audacity to look baffled and hurt. She placed her hand over her chest, "Dear, honey, babe, my sweet little bo--" I instantly held my hand over her mouth. Her embarrassing nicknames is something she wields with pride. The tip of my ears grow warm, I can feel her smirk from behind my hand. Oh no.. "Girl, that's disgusting!" I hastily retreated my hand from her mouth, my palm wet and a bit cold from the air. She licked me. She licked me! "What was that for?!" "That was revenge for last week!" last week? what was she on about? The only thing I did last week was led her to the picnic date I planned, bought us ice cream and rent a bike. Or maybe she meant that one time I- oh. "Was this about that time when I went to the bathroom? I am still a functioning human being and have needs, you know!" This is not how I envisioned the day to go. I was supposed to take her shopping maybe even play a few games in her favourite arcade and by night on the highest peak, properly propose this time. To finally give an answer to all the questions. Not this. I sighed, I massaged my growing headache. She was truly a work of art. She huffed and crossed her arms across her chest, "You could have left me in a decent place. You wandered off while I was standing on a cliff by the amusement park, it was dark out if you're forgetting." I winced, "That was a very asshole move made by me, and I am sorry," a small smile on my face as I observed her reaction. She was still pouting, but her eyebrows are now softening. Maybe if I show her my sincerity, we'll be back to having banters. I slid even closer to her side, I gently took her hand in mine, "I could cook your favourite for you." As soon as I said that, she looked at me with the brightest smile and beautiful eyes. She held my hands tighter, shaking them in excitement. God, I really want to give her a kiss right now.. "Really?! You aren't joking?" I shook my head and gave out a little laugh, "I'm serious!" It might have been my imagination, but I swear she just pecked my cheek just now. "I'm holding you to that!" I should propose to her next time then. Make this permanent, but for now this is perfect.
