The weight of the question "Will I be sad forever?" Is heartbreaking. When you've spent so long in darkness it's hard to imagine the light. For anyone feeling this way it may not be today it may not be this week it may not even be this year but things will get better. You've got a long time on this earth you don't have to have it all perfect and figured out straight away. Life never came with instructions - there's no such thing as wrong, just different. To those who are wondering... You will not be sad forever. Know that there is joy through healing whatever it is you have been through. The sadness serves a purpose, in a strange way it has come about in a way that protects you from worse pain. I went through hell as a child and that sadness first told me to unalive myself when I was only 4. Every day I hated my life and myself for what others had done. But you keep going. You start to unbecome the things you needed to be to survive and you step into your authentic self. One day you will surprise yourself thinking "I love my life." That is the moment you'll know you couldn't possibly be sad forever.
