When I was fifteen years old in 1973 I was visiting Greenwich in London with a friend when we both ducked in to a church to escape a torrential downpour. The moment I stepped through the entrance I was instantly stopped in my tracks by an ear splitting screeching sound which was so loud it forced me back outside into the rain. My friend came out and asked what was up and when I told him he must have heard the noise he looked bemused and said he'd heard nothing. I was a bit taken aback but we both went back in to the church again and I had to make a quick retreat due to more literally ear splitting screeching sounds. Again my friend heard nothing despite being right alongside me. Nearly fifty years later I still don't have an answer to what the sound was,

Considering that there was a military base five miles from the town, this one sounds suspiciously like secret weapons tests. In this case, sonic weapons. If that is the case, we're actually more likely to find out what it was at some point. Classified documents will age into declassification and this one could very well turn up. Stay tuned to this channel for more!

A relative once described an incident like this many many years ago, maybe mid/late 70s in outback australia, the uncle had said they were driving home late in the night from a church meeting in the next town over, bak then many rural roads werent sealed with bitumen, so it was dirt and dust and rough. They had said they saw a bright light behind them, and thinking it was a large cattle truck approaching, the uncle had told the kids in the back seats to wind up the windows while the truck overtakes then so the car didnt fill with thee red dust from the road. As the light behind their vehicle got closer and brighter, their car suddenly started to sputter, like they were about to run out of fuel, so the uncle moved over to the left, expecting the larger truck to soon go by. But it never did. The light/s stayed behind them as they slowed down to a full stop, suddenly the car started to shake and rock side to side while parked. The light started circling the car and I was told even went underneath it at one point. The kids in the back were screaming & crying and the two adults in front had started panicking also, while trying to restart the car. Uncle had said the whole interior of the car was illuminated with a bright white light for some seconds before it simply disappeared, like someone turning off a light. The road was plunged back into darkness and within moments their car started again, as normal and they drove home a lot faster than before. Many ppl in the town where I grew up have had similar encounters out on the plains.

I lived in Warminster for most of my life nad I hadn't actually heard about the "Thing", but every town has its own little claim to fame around those parts and ours was the highest amount of recorded UFO sightings so it was probably wrapped up in all those little tales. It was really cool to log in today and see a video about my hometown. Also, the artwork was really well done and almost get like I was actually looking at Christ Church. I walked past it almost every day for years so it's pretty awesome to see it brought to life on Bedtime Stories

Listening to some of the stuff playing on BBC Radio in 1964, I think the entire country could safely say it was subjected to horrifying sonic attacks, but I guess they wouldn't, technically, be inexplicable.

I live in the Four Corners area, USA. 10 Yrs ago myself and several friends and neighbors heard for several months, The Taos Hum. It was extraordinarily bizzare.

Sounds like early military-tests using varying frequencies of sound...to see how the human mind/body reacts...seeing as though the human-body is roughly 60% water....

How does this channel not have millions of subscripters? The narration, artwork and writing is very well done!

I'm leaning toward experimental weaponry. Especially since after reports began and were so similar, the phenomenon abruptly ceased.

Ambiguous names for the paranormal creatures like "thing" really creep me out.

I've lived in Wiltshire for years, and still do, but have never even heard of this, so it was a cool story. Obviously I've heard of Warminster and used to know some people from there, but never knew they had all this weird stuff going on once upon a time. My bet would be military weapon testing, intentional or not, if you drive through Salisbury Plain you've got a decent chance of hearing some kind of exercise going on, even these days.

The drawing of the Ford Anglia patrol car is so cute! I miss when car designs weren't so angry...

Two suggestions for videos: 1.Cheesman Park in Denver, Colorado and the cemetery it was built over. 2.Dudleytown and the Dark Entry Forest in Connecticut. Cursed ground that drives people to madness?

The postmaster heard a tremendous clatter than seemed to come from the roof of his house. He sprang from his bed to see what was the matter, and saw a tiny sleigh and eight tiny reindeer...

Bizarre events told in an engrossing manner, beautiful illustrations. Couldn't help but think of "Sonic Attack" by Hawkwind (lyrics by author Michael Moorcock)
