I'd always wondered about Robert-the-Doll, and watching this made me look it up more. (I'm a doll collector and museum curator.) Robert does indeed look like a Steiff felt doll from the early 1900s; one authority gave a "probably"to this; and another declared Robert WAS indeed a Steiff. Steiff is most famous for it's "button-in-ear" plush toys, but they did make dolls. These were playthings for comfortably-wealthy and upper middle-class children, and some are highly collectible today. Mandy is a common composition baby doll, very popular c. 1920s. These tend to split if they get wet (my grandmother left hers out in the dew overnight; some kids "baptized" theirs), so they look creepy. In their day, though, they were considered "unbreakable" dolls in contrast to bisque dolls. They were also lighter for a young child to carry around, and sometimes these dolls can be almost life-size. And no, I've worked with large doll collections, and there are some incredibly creepy dolls, but never had a problem with "haunted" dolls.

I remember seeing Robert the Doll for the first time a few years back when we went to Key West. We were heading back to mainland Florida and decided to hit the fort he's kept in before we left. The fort itself was awesome and kinda creepy, but the room Robert was kept in was like a whole separate world. Different temperature, slightly drier, and the walls had like big signs on them explaining his backstory and what he could do to people. (There was also a wall full of apology letters people sent so he'd stop causing things to go wrong for them, lmao)
Idk if the day we decided to see him was like an off day for him or something, but man it was hard to look at him for long periods of time. It was like staring at an angry, hostile tiger. Dunno what was going on that day but it genuinely felt like he was super pissed off. My mom thinks it was because the group that was looking at him earlier was being kinda loud and rude, and I kinda think that it's because he's being kept on a podium in a plexiglass tube. I imagine that would be a bit irritating by the end of the day (if he's like, sentient and all that.)

When my daughter was a child, she would often watch cartoons on the TV in our bedroom, while my wife watched some show or other, and I worked remotely on AOL or played online RPGs. One evening, she came out of our bedroom, crying. She explained how scared she was of Chuckie. I didnât know anything about the movie at the time, and told her not to worry, that it was just a movie.
My daughter said, âYou donât understand, Daddy, Chuckie is real.â
And her tears were real. I managed to get her calmed down, and I convinced her it was just a movie, but she needed to sleep with Mom and Dad that night. We also stopped letting her watch âcartoonsâ on our TV.

There's this place in my country called the "Manila Film Center" which was made for mostly international film festivals. Long story short disaster happened leaving lots of construction workers dead. News reported only 7 had died but in reality over hundreds have died and are buried there underneath the concrete of the structure and their spirits basically haunt the place till today.
Would really love for you guys to hopefully make a video on this! I really love your content and the effort gone into them!
