I started menopause at 53 and did it without any supplements. I fasted often. I was also very aware not to fan myself when having hot flashes - especially in the corporate environment where I worked (also with family) because of the stigma. I was told at 56 that I am getting too old to be promoted. Started my own companies at 59😊 healthy and energetic at 61 and going strong.

My wife is 49 and perimenopausal but doing all the right things to deal with it, exercise, diet, sleep, hormones. We talk about it a lot and even discussed this podcast while soaking in the tub together this evening. It is hard to know if you are doing everything you can but we talk and I do my best to support her. Guys need to step up and be more supportive and understanding. Thanks for discussing this topic.

Had I not found these videos I would be convinced that I was dying. Heart palpitations, migraines, itchy skin, insomnia, pure rage, crying spells, the list goes on and on! I’m 43 and I literally do not recognize myself. Thank God for YouTube… because the 800.00 a month that I pay for health insurance is absolutely USELESS! My husband needs to watch this with me. I think he thinks I’m crazy 😌

When I was going through menopause, my husband told me to "fix it" and to "stop making excuses" , that "other women" didn't experience the same things that I was experiencing. There was no compassion or empathy no matter how much I tried to explain what was happening inside of me. We are no longer married. Maybe if I told him it was the equivalent of his testicles shrinking to nothing, he would have been more receptive.

My spouse and I are separating after 25 years of marriage and 28 years together. Why? I boil it down to menopause. I helped him through a decade of Lyme Disease issues; I was his "patient advocate" to the point that doctors and I emailed each other to help with his care, from fitness, diet, and naturopath to specialists. I'm a year into menopause, and I'm "too much." It breaks my heart.

I started perimenopause at 37, then like a text book countdown I started dropping one menstrual cycle a year for ten years. 47 was apparently "early" to be fully in menopause and my doc recommended a bone scan as it could increase my risk of osteoporosis.
Interestingly, my bones were strong and perfectly fine and the lady who did the scan told me she sees this in many overweight women like me, and its one of the very few advantages to being heavier. Basically, we are constantly weight lifting due to the excess body mass we carry, so our bones are stronger. Im carrying an excess of around 30lbs.
Im now 52, and have suffered what I would call challenging, but not crippling symptoms. I have never felt the need to take HRT as I didnt ever feel that debilitated by menopause. I had almost every "symptom" but luckily to a lesser degree than some ladies who I know struggle terribly.
I feel absolutely fabulous at 52, most symptoms have now left and Im loving this new phase. I have made a few lifestyle and nutritional changes that Im happy to share if it helps others.....
Vit D daily - 4000iu
Marine collagen suppliment in my morning coffee - this has had a very beneficial impact of the aches and pains for sure.
Stopped using so many chemicals on my body, quit dying my hair and went silver and started making my own organic soaps as a hobby.
I use the 16.8 fasting routine which has helped my gut massively.
Daily serving of blueberries and apple with a good prebiotic natural yoghurt.
Eat good quality meats and make a lot of bone broth and collegen based soups from organic animal joints.
Grow my own veg - (I dont have a huge space but I try my best)
Walk at least 30 mins a day, mostly more than that with my dog.
Limit alcohol for special occasions, also watch caffine intake.
Drink enough water (this makes such a difference to my mental clarity)
Get a good night's sleep, have a good sleep routine (I dont have a TV in my bedroom)
Dont watch the news - its always bad and depressing.
Practice gratitude, count your blessings in life.
Get out with friends, laugh, and certainly NEVER say "Im getting old"
Most of all ladies, keep a positive mindset as much as you can, we can often talk ourselves into feeling low by our attitudes to what we are facing. Im here as proof that there is a fabulous life after menopause, its not a "decline" , its a freedom!!

When I first hit menopause, I actually gained 18 lbs and couldn't lose it for the longest time. Tried pills, vitamins, and just made things worse. Now, I'm using the Aspect Health sensor, watching my diet, keeping tabs on my hormones, and even doing a bit of exercise, even though I'm already 53 yo

I am one suffering in silence. Divorced and scared to start a relationship with a great man because I'm afraid of all my menopause baggage. Thinning hair, hot flash, low libido, night sweats, brain fog etc etc etc. It is truly depressing.

As I listen to this podcast I am infuriated. For 12 years I have suffered a litany of symptoms that doctors claimed were in my head. I have been told nothing is wrong with me, that I eat too much, that I don’t exercise enough, that I had bipolar disorder. I have been dismissed by over 50 doctors. And all along I have been suffering with perimenopause. My marriage has suffered and my quality of life has been sub par. I sit here and think that if one of these doctors listened to me I could have gotten HRT and my life would be oh so different. I’m with Dr. Mary Claire Haver with this needs to change. I’m on board with this movement!
