You have to have a certain level of understanding and experience when it comes to spirituality to understand Sadhguru. Based on the comments I read, it looks like a lot of people appreciate and “get” what Sadhguru is saying which is wonderful. For people who might struggle with his words, please let me share one story. I went to Portugal few years ago and was just wondering around. I ended up passing by a building that made me physicially stop. It felt like it was calling me in. As I moved into its direction, I experienced an intense wave of emotions like never before. I felt calm and joyful. I was perplexed, but also curious. I went in and there were people coming out of the room into the main hall. I asked what was happening inside, and they told me that Mooji was inside. It’s mindblowing how limited our understanding of life and energy is. There is no need to believe in anything. Just stay curious and life will guide you home.

I guess most people don’t get Sadghuru, because he speaks in a very spiritual way. And most people have closed their eyes to their own spirit. If you need a meaning, hear this: LIFE is simply to be lived. It’s a gift that was given to you. What you make out of it, is simply your choice, either you wanna feel miserable or joyful. You decide. You cannot control everything around you and what will happen to you. What you can control is simply the way you choose to look at it. And by doing this, you are changing the world simply by existing. And hear this: if you ever felt rock bottom, you know the pain. I suffered for over 20 years. But I needed that to understand. The pain, the suffering was a gift from life itself to push me to what I needed to see. LIFE ITSELF. To simply be and live. People are running around trying to be something else than themselves. Trying to fix things outside of them they cannot control. The universe is abundance/ intelligence itself . There is nothing to be fixed other than the way we look at it. If you need help realising, go read all the wise people and their teachings and you will see they’re all talking about the one same thing. Wake up to life. The pain will stop when you stop chasing after any expectations or outcomes and simply allow yourself to be you and see what is already here 🙏🤍

All I can say is this man saved my life in 2012. Listening to " in the lap of a master" did it for me. ❤

I feel like Steven has taken the role of a spiritual student for us viewers by means of openness and non-resistance. I think, that allowed Sadhguru to express himself so effectively in this interview. Awsome work, great content. You are both an inspiration for me and I want to say thank you 👍👍

One the most important thing I learned from his teachings is to keep your inside happy and joyful regardless what is happening outside.

42:10 "Being peaceful and joyful is more important for a human being's experience of life than 'me being better than you'". This is so simple yet so incredibly insightful and eye opening

Did anyone else notice that Sadhguru hardly ever let Steven finish a sentence? I thought of someone enlightened having more patience and not needing to dominate every conversation you have with them? Beside that still valuable & insightful!

You know that moment when you hear a truth you don't want to face and your heart drops a little? I felt it so much with this, especially when Sadhguru said (Paraphrasing) "You talk about Trauma because you are looking for an excuse to justify who you are when you don't like it." The reaction from my body knew it was true before I did. It hurts, because it's the work I need to do

Does anyone else notice how he keeps interrupting Steven?

Excellent interview! And very good job not interrupting the guest. I see so many hosts nowadays cutting off their guests answers, and interrupting all the time. It makes the conversation feel rushed and choppy. This chat flowed really beautifully.

I was kind of bummed when I first heard him say we make up purpose in life, but it’s actually relieving once you realize that this is true. For most of us our unhappiness is self made, especially here in the US with all of the available resources we have.

Having listened to the whole episode in one sitting, I have to say this is one of the most impressive displays of hosting I’ve seen Steven (or anyone) do. Because it was not at all an easy conversation to manage. Keeping it neutral, informative and also asking the questions without bias but considering the entirety of the DOAC audience that will be listening to it, I’m in awe of the job done with it. Big shout out to Steven for that, and for the overall wisdom shared.

"You need a false purpose to live because you have not even made an attempt to learn what this life is about; Your experience of life is determined by you" - those words are just brilliant! Pondering "what is the meaning of life" is a western enigma when life doesn't turn out the way we wanted.
