God is real when you’re born and your parents laugh with joy at your arrival. God is real when you first pick yourself up after falling; you start walking at your family’s delight. God is real when you learn to speak and call out your siblings and they feel blessed by your presence. God is real when you play with them, your little hands scrambling to hold their big ones. God is real when you get older and them even older; so they can only watch you from afar. God is real when you make your first friends despite your difference. God is real when you learn what confidence first is, when you are introduced to makeup as a teen. God is real when your friends start talking about boys. God is real when you first find someone cute. God is real when you first learn to stand up for yourself. God is real when you fight through it all. Even when you get roped into things you try to run away from, God is real just like you’d been taught since your birth. Even when when you develop a difference and people around you fidget to avoid getting closer to you... God is real. Even when your parents panic trying to find a way to dissolve your difference but fail to do so, even when you’re picked at for your difference, God is truly real. Then when all spindles of your fates get tangled, God is still real. Even when all hope is diminished, god is real. Even when you feel alone is this big wide world God is real. When you make a friend, when you lose that friend, God is still real…even when it hurts. Even when the world turns their back on you, God is real. When you are painted by the world for things you didn’t do, God is real. Even when you plead with your friends to believe you, God is real. Even though the sole reason as to why you learnt to fight, to endure is because you had to endure it all………because God is real and let you go through it all. Even when you bruise your own knuckles for it all to stop at once, God is real. God is real even when you want to paint your own bedroom floor with red. God is real even as the world spins and gives you vertigo and ceases only into your pillowcase. God is the reason I have hope and desperation… God is real and that is why both anxiety and tranquility exist…alongside storms and sunshine, birds and banter, lovers and abusers and rain after drought. God is the sole reason I still hold on. God is the reason I curse at the world and still get back up on my feet. God is the reason I have “someone” to pray to. twitter:@julyswillow
