great episode. I as well wasnt aware Teresa Taylor, Butthole Surfers Drummer passed. I liked them in my teen years and kinda lost track when grunge got big. at 48:20 you talk about next big drummer. I say keep an eye on Paulina Villareal of The Warning. Great young band and she is only just 22 (soon). Since the pandemic her and her sisters have had a couple great years opening for Foo Fighters in front of 55K only weeks before Taylor passed, also Halestorm, had their first European tour. working on their second album under Lava/Republic. She is the primary song writer, she sings lead or co-lead on about 20% of their songs, which she has been doing since she was 11 years old! just watch their performance on the VMA's in 2023 and its impossible not to notice her during their song Evolve. But that is my 2cents and a watch out for notice lol

Love that Alesis commercial at 25:15, in which the female calmly reads a book in a close proximity of her male partner practicing electronic drums.
The book is called "How to build an EMP bomb".

I really love what yâall are bringing to the table at Drumeo. All we drummers owe you all a deep bow. Thank you.
That said, if you are not familiar with Kris Myers and Umphreyâs McGee, get familiar. The same can be said for Rory Dolan of lespecial and Isaac Teel of TAUK. Any drummer will absolutely fall in love with these bands. I cannot express this enough. Any of these drummers, especially Kris, belongs on Drumeo. Kris was actually out the second half of this year for rotator cuff surgery and Portnoy is filling in for him on 12/29 in Chicago.

I've been watching drumeo off and on for a couple of years, but have dedicated much more time the past 3 months. Awesome content for a beginner like me. I'm going to dedicate more time at my kit going forward. Thank you for the inspiration and I'll be signing up so I can start to learn again! If you could ever get Copland on, that would be awesome! †Merry Christmas guys!

Another great drummer and educator that we lost this year was Ralph Humphrey. He started the PIT program with Joe Porcaro at Musician's Institute in 1980. Then the two of them started the drum program at Los Angeles Music Academy in 1996, and later became Los Angeles College of Music. He played with Frank Zappa, Don Ellis Big Band, Al Jarreau, Manhattan Transfer, Seals and Crofts, Wayne Shorter, Tom Rainer, Mike Miller, Jeff Richman, The Outsidemen, and Babaghanoush. Also on TV shows like Family Guy, The Simpsons, Animaniacs, Dancing With the Stars, and many more. He was definitely one of the great studio drummers and educators in Los Angeles over the last 50-60 years.

Not sure where you got Portnoy wasn't allowed back after the A7F album. He left DT, because he was burnt out on being everything to the band. He handled every detail of that band until he left. All merch, videos, planning ect. There was a whole MD interview with him talking about it him leaving by choice.

I really appreciated the Jay/Slipknot talk, not enough fans understand that bands are businesses in more ways than anyone would like to admit from the outside.
Parkway Drive has been the same lineup of guys since 2003, with their friend Jia joining on as Bass in 2006 (3 years in) to replace, and he wasn't a 'real' member of the band for the past 20 years until relatively recently they realised how shitty they were treating their friend by having him as a 'touring member' for two decades

The growth of this channel has been a wonder to watch. Going from cool little licks to impress friends all the way to one of the biggest, influential drumming channels is insane
