Mad respect to this drummer. He is rarely asked to play drum parts as complex as Gojira. You can hear the basics of what Mario does in this drummerâs parts that heâs figuring out on the fly. Just goes to show what it means to be a professional, regularly performing, musician. Great work! Filling Marioâs seat is nye impossible for 98% of drummers!

I saw Gojira a couple years ago and it was damn near a spiritual experience. Hearing Flying Whales live was like being hit with a wall of sound. What a band.

What I find so fascinating is that he absolutely nailed the backbeat groove. In fact in all of these, the drummer nearly always gets the basic groove right, even if the details are different.
