The scariest haunting is not by ghosts but by corruption...

Oh boy, THIS building Ghost stories aside, this center became the epitome of the dictatorial rule in the country at the time; where human life was so trivially disposed of and discarded in the pursuit of a prideful goal What happened to the workers and people there was a monstrous and inhuman cruelty, and us Filipinos still hope that peace may eventually come to that accursed building and whatever terrors and sorrows it holds

I live in North Manila and I drive by that building on my way to work every morning before the sun rises, I tell you it's genuinely creepy especially at dark. Almost everybody from my country knows the entire story, thank you Bedtime Stories for telling it to the world.

Yep my parents used to do plays here for their University and they said that they had to cancel a play once because an apparition walked on stage and suddenly disappeared freaking everyone out

I was young when Imelda Marcos was in the news. The big thing was the amount of shoes she owned. She ran a poor nation but owned thousands of pairs of expensive shoes. The things one remembers lol

I remember hearing stories about how twisted Imelda Marcos was. Thereā€™s an urban legend that she sacrificed a bunch of kids to guarantee the success of a building project she wanted.

When I was 19 I worked for an excavation company. We dug this massive basement for an apartment building that had poured concrete walls. These walls were 18 inches thick and about 14 feet tall. I was in the bottom of the hole when the wall forms let loose and the wet concrete looked like a tidal wave. It filled a skid steer and actually knocked a couple people over. I can't imagine getting trapped in it.

My dad briefly used to work in an office there. He said that even during the middle of the day, the place always felt uncanny. He was just glad his shifts always ended around 5-6PM there.

As soon as the Marcos get thrown into the mix you know there's going to be a body count.

glad to see this here. more than a ghost story or urban legend, this building is a stark reminder of the dictatorship that plunged the Philippines into debt. there are real life cruelties behind this and i hope every Filipino doesn't forget.

I've been there several times and still giving me the creeps. There's a choking aura and the place just feels 'wrong' all over.

There was a flurry of construction during the elder Marcosā€™ era; needless to say the buildings were quickly built but they sacrificed the safety of its workers. Until now a lot of Filipinos donā€™t know about this. Iā€™m glad others are being made aware. Thank you for this video.

A tragedy that perfectly encapsulates the callousness of the Marcos clan.

Aaaaand a few decades later, we elected back the family that allowed and led this to happen. Good job, Philippines.

I remember watching a documentary where Imelda cried in camera sobbing over how her husband couldn't have been responsible for the assassination of Ninoy Aquino. Decades later her husband flatly said that he was responsible for it šŸ¤£ This, along with the documentary where she asked "Why is our country so poor? šŸ™„" it should show just how deplorable that woman is.

This sounds like something that would have been done during construction of the Great Wall of chinaā€¦but 1982?! Iā€™m absolutely speechless and had no knowledge of this event until bedtime storieā€™s stellar telling of it in dark stark detail. RIP to those poor guys and bravo bedtime stories. Mad slap on the back from Iowa.ā¤

I remember my mom taking me here sometime in the 2000s (I was 12 that time). There is really something odd about this building. When we were there the entire time, I always felt angry and sad, and I didn't even know why. I felt this deep-seated anger over something I don't even know about. There's also the smell and I felt like someone was behind me always when I walk around. I was restless and I told my mom we need to leave. When we finally left, those feelings immediately went away. I always thought those feelings were from the victims themselves.

Normally I feel pretty disconnected and safe from these stories since I live so far awayā€¦.but this one is not only in my city, but a 5 minute drive from my appartment

One of the security guards assigned to the building (the Film Center is part of a larger gov't building complex and they got rotated between the other buildings) back in the 90s told me a story about how the other guards would always request to be transferred out quickly or even quit on the spot when they got assigned the night or graveyard shift there because of all the stories. Some of them believed the stories enough or had an experience that made them quit, others didn't care much about the paranormal and were brave enough to take up the job. That guard also told me that whenever it drizzled or rained lightly anywhere in the complex, they could always hear some faint sound similar to hammers or construction equipment humming somewhere around them, and the sound gets stronger as you approach the building, even when it's the dead of night and they're certain no construction is happening inside or around the building. I guess they're still trying to finish it. The building is now surrounded by new developments and the bottom floors are occupied by various businesses like cafes and restaurants, there's even a new hotel right next to the film center, and we'd always joke about how we wouldn't want to get a room there unless we wanted to wake up right next to a ghostly construction worker lol.
