The Wars of the Roses in 1471 led to the Lancastrian cause collapsing after the Battle of Tewkesbury, securing the crown for Edward IV of York. Although Edward IV was a charismatic ruler, the uprisings did not quiet, including Margaret of Anjou's attempts to regain power. Soon, the notorious Richard III's path to the throne involved political maneuvering, suspicion, and the mysterious disappearance of the young Prince Edward V and his brother, leading to Richard III's ascension. Henry Tudor eventually defeated Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485, ending the Wars of the Roses and giving rise to the Tudor Dynasty.

I've always thought that we will never know the true face of Richard III because the history is written by the victors. So when Henry VII came to the throne, with a very weak claim, he probably encouraged people to write the chronicles in such a way to show him as a good man, while Richard had to look like a villain and a morally deprived individual. He even went as far as to doctor Richard's paintings to make him look more sinister. For all we know, there was information about Edward V in Richard's chronicles, but they were destroyed by Henry VII to make Richard look even worse. Look at what Richard did in his short reign to reform the kingdom, and you'll see he was not the sinister hunchback who was plotting to kill everyone around him.

ItĀ“s not clear if Stanley was at the council meeting. Later Tudor chroniclers seem to concede the Lord Hastings was up to something behind Richardā€™s back. Polydore Vergil wrote that even before Richard arrived in London, Lord Hastings ā€˜called together unto Paulā€™s church such friends as he knew to be right careful for the life, dignity, and estate of prince Edward, and conferred with them what best was to be doneā€™. Lord Hastings was still receiving the pension from the French King. Is it coincidence that large part of the TudorĀ“s army at Bosworth were the French? I don t think so. This was TREASON. Usually people guilty of treason were attained. Lord Hastings wasnĀ“t. Richard didn t want his family to suffer.

Lols this hasn't aged well. The narrator so confidently stating he 'wasn't a crookback'. Oh my. Must have been made before they found his skeleton with it's severe scoliosis.

The person behind ClarenceĀ“s execution was Elizabeth Woodville. Most likely because he posessed certain informations. Those Bishop Stillington posessed too. He was also arrested for some time. Edward lately regretted GeorgeĀ“s execution. Richard was shocked by his brother death, they spent their childhood together. Edward definitely didnĀ“t need RichardĀ“s approval and most likely didnĀ“t want it. What for? He was the king and very self confident one, Plus he knew Richard, he would probably ask for KingĀ“ s forgiveness as he did before.

A lot of people say Richard III was a butt-tard. I tend to agree but also remember the victors write history.

The very slight delay in marrying Elizabeth of York owed to the fact that theyā€™d had to wait for a dispensation
