I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought it was appropriate to kill Escharum with his friend's sword. There was no reason for me to do that infact it was down right dangerous for me to get that close to his gravity hammer yet I felt compelled to. It's cool how games can make u feel that way.

the ending definitely wasnt time travel, it was just the conversation that took place during the period displayed. the argument saying it was time travel since chief was gone for three days isn’t really solid, a counter argument to that is he was just gone, stuck between reality and the portal. teleporting in halo isnt an instantaneous action, it takes a lot of time between entering and exiting. that time was always skipped in previous halo games. (Edit ->) some more proof that atriox didnt time travel is the lack of a date during the non legendary post credits scene. It only shows up in the version with the audio

I want to point out that if people are saying the graphics are a downgrade they don't know the difference between graphics and an art style. Graphically this the best looking game in the series without a doubt. Artistically it's "simpler" than 4 or 5. It's far more akin to the Bungie era in style. Just because a game isn't "realistic" doesn't mean a game has bad graphics. Hell, I fucking love 2d pixelated sprites personally. That style is timeless. It will always look good regardless of time.

I disagree with u when u say chief was using the pilot and the weapon. Chief has always cared for marines. In the beginning when he’s floating through space u see him tossing the dead covenant to the side but when he sees a dead marine he’s very gentle. Yes the pilot isn’t a marine but chief didn’t know that until later on. Chief will always risk his life to protect marines it’s part of what makes chief the savior of humanity. I don’t see chief only using the pilot

Atriox didn't travel back in time, he just found the endless and had opened their containment chamber with all their cylixes.
We know this because the date that says 90,000 and something BC only appears during the legendary ending, and the voices if the grand edict and despondent pyre are from that time period, however the visuals are not.

I have the opposite opinion. At the start of the game both the main badguys are already dead or dealt with. So we're just aimlessly wandering around a ring trying to survive. We get introduced to some new bad guys, in the Harbinger and she's trying to bring back "The endless". Which is cool, until you find out you learn NOTHING about any of them. So basically you're caught between two major plot climaxes and you're just running errands. Imagine a new starwars movie comes out and it's about Rey finding a ship to get off of tatooine and going for lunch and when they reveal the antagonist it ends...

It seems incredibly obvious that infinite will have story expansions/dlc.
They spent almost an entire console generation remaking most of the engine to support open world environments and real time lighting, for what, so they could just focus on multiplayer and never actually utilise the new engine features and story for the next 10 years? No. they're obviously planning something.
My guess would be a kinda live service story that will eventually lead up to a rematch with Atriox or something

The Banished should not be genocidal, especially Atriox. The whole faction implemented different species (some of which who hate each other) because Atriox saw vengeance to be a petty emotion. The books show he recognizes that not all members of a species are responsible for the wrongdoings of a few. They reject feuds because they are pragmatic.
The fact so many people think Atriox is genocidal, is a ruining of his character.

Now that you mention how Eschareum is a great foil to Master Chief, there's a certain genius to it on a meta level. Just like how they're grizzled veterans coming back to a changing world to cement their legacy and show they still got it, Halo is a grizzled franchise coming back to a changing gaming landscape to show the new kids on the block what its all about.
I also love how they not only blended different interpretations of Chief, but in how they show this blend. Reach did a lot of its characterization through excellent mocap and body language. Infinite seems to take this to the next level where you see the different layers of Chief from Halo 4 and the lore in his body language but what he says on the surface is mostly what Bungie was going for.

8:50 i thought he was going to explain what happened with Cortana & his trust/their relationship but stopped himself bc "what's the point? she's gone" . nvr really saw it as him mistaking her for Cortana

I'd have to hard disagree about it being perfect :P
To me it came off like Rise of Skywalker. A reactionary pivot relying on nostalgia to get back in some fans' good graces. Everything interesting they were setting up in 4 and 5 was relegated to "it happened off-screen months ago" and instead shoved things like brutes and monitors and forerunner tunnels and a smoother armor design to make you feel the H1 fanwank. The most interesting/intriguing thing 343 did was spend two games building up Cortana to be the villain and it's immediately handwaved away and replaced. I get some people didn't like it but I guess they're just too beholden to the comfortable formula.
The game I REALLY want to play is the one we were only told about in holo conversations and (ugh) audio logs. Let me play the siege of the Infinity. Let me see chief vs Cortana. Let me witness and feel that betrayal chief must've been feeling seeing his best friend go off the rails. Give me the tragedy of hopelessness of the unsc vs an army of guardians. Not this trite nostalgia-bait because some people can't handle the story being taken in a new/different direction.
I digress but, they abandoned their story just as it was about to get good all because some people whinged. I wasn't impressed with the story one bit :T

We’ve already got an idea what will be happening for single player there’s already been a trademark it’s called
Halo: The Endless
From what it looks like we will be getting single player content but the question is when
Edit: I forgot to mention this but it has been leaks that they are working on other projects could be DLC or spinoff games related to the franchise
