So, I ruined Christmas dinner with a dad joke. The family was talking about my dad who passed away in 2019. He suffered from vertigo the last few years of his life. I walked in and said, "The hardest part about dealing with people that have vertigo is they feel like the world revolves around them." Half the people laughed, two people were offended, and no one said a word after that. I miss comedy....

You'd be amazed what you can do with hot dog water. My daughter's girl scout troop was in charge of the meal for a multi-troop winter lodge weekend. They cooked 3 big pots of hot dogs, then used the water to make hot cocoa. Everyone went on and on about how it was the best hot cocoa they'd ever had.

Every time I see something about cowboys it reminds me of my Dad who was born in 1918. He was raised on ranches in far west texas where his dad was foreman. My dad would always say, "we weren't cowboys, we were cowhands."
When he was 13 he was allowed to go on a cattle drive. When they arrived in Vanhorn he was paid $5 which he used to buy spurs, a belt, then took the 'rest' home to mom.

I usually get socks for Christmas..or some pajamas. This year we all got a fire blanket instead because mom confessed to us that she almost burned the garage down while using her grill this summer. Having a fire blanket would've made putting the fire out easier. She wanted to share what she learned with all of us.
