I drove through Minnesota twice. Once on my way to Grand Forks and once on my way home from Grand Forks. Never again. After that, I started going through the middle of Iowa, across the southern part of Minnesota and then take 29 up through South Dakota. It added about 200 miles to the trip, but eliminated 20 years of stress. Worth it.

13:20 I was in Montparnasse for a meeting. Our hosts arranged dinner afterwards in a nearby Basque restaurant. Our server (also owner...) took fourteen orders (many mispronounced or at least in mangled Franglais). They all arrived, correct and delivered to the person who ordered. Nothing was written down. RESPECT !

LOL, when my niece was 2, my brother nicknamed her "Beastie Babe", she was a holy terror. I once took her to a local mall and an elderly woman came up to us and said "What a pretty young lady, what's her name?" She put on the shy routine, hid behind my leg and said nothing. I said her name was Laura. Then with a very indignant look on her face, she said "No it isn't." The Lady looked at me like I was a "Pedo", before my niece continued with "My name is Laura Annie Beastie Babe!" I nearly fell down laughing.
