Hello everyone! Come back tomorrow (hopefully) for the upcoming balance changes summary video! There are pages of changes to summarize, so it might take me an extra day to finish the video. Regardless, stay tuned for more coverage of all things AoE4 that are coming in October!

It might be helpful to include one (or more) examples of what the minimap looks like, just for easier visualization of the overall structure of the map (especially for people who haven't played the pup to see the maps). Anither thing that could be improved in these 'map presentation' videos is to also take a look at how these maps scale into team games. Especially for 4v4s the positions where people spawn (in particular distance to the nearest enemy and distance to the nearest ally) has a major impact in how the game plays out: If you spawn far from the enemy then feudal (and sometimes even castle) pushes become a lot harder to pull off just because of the walking distance. If people spawn close to their teammates that can lead to the enemy's bases turning into one giant base making it harder to find good angles for early knight raids (this is most clearly visible on danube). For some maps, terrain barriers also make the game 'naturally' devolve into 1v1s or 2v2s. f.e. Confluence splits the map in half, creating a dynamic where people often fight two parallel 2v2s with fairly little interaction until a team starts winning on one side of the map. Players' starting positions also majorly differ from map to map (f.e. dry arabia spawns each team in a half-circle with the flanking players close to the enemy, while hill and dale has huge distances between the teams), which might make it interesting to look at this kind of thing for the maps.

Oasis was one of my favourites back in Age of Mythology. I always played it on the largest setting with max AIs (free for all of 12 individuals) so there were 4 oases in the middle.

Hey age of noob, you should mention neutral traders on the map locations as well. I think Pearie has trade in mind, scarce resources to force players into try adopt early trading

Great vid! (I think you meant โ€œbe *wary* of the wolves in Wetlands.โ€ Saying โ€˜wearyโ€™ does work, but people will probably already be weary of them without encouragement or reminder.)

Yo man your videos are great and I'm still surprised as to why you don't have more subs. Like you are the SOTL of aoe4 so I have no idea as to whats happening with yourube algorithm

Lots of fun maps. I like that! And most of them are cloned from AOE II, but PLEASE dont speak about AOE II in past sentence. Its a very live game and doing perfectly well. ๐Ÿ˜‹ They are both great games. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Beastyqt pretty much threatened not to play ranked if these maps were in the ranked map pool, and they're pretty much all knock off aoe2 and road to Redbull maps. Except Mediterranean, that's ok.

Wow, I was looking forward to Oasis since day 1, but I feel like they are going to ruin it by putting sacred sites and massive fishing in the center, encouraging just cheesing to immediately cut through and get access to it first, not to mention really hurting civs like Delhi who want to access those sacred sites.
