First song on the first Fanny album, our opus. But how did this acoustic version come about?
While narrating my book "Land of a Thousand Bridges," which I'm turning into an audiobook, all of a sudden Lowell George stepped in and literally forced me to record this in the middle of everything. I know his energy, it was him. Moreover, he's the only person, or being, with enough prana to literally get me to close the session, pick up an acoustic guitar and get going on another, in full swing ~ I couldn't do it fast enough! Done with a lot of love, of course, he wasn't pushing me around.

Do you know of Lowell? He was in the band Little Feat, and was a close friend and mentor. Also, he wrote the magnificent song "Willin'," an absolute masterpiece which Linda Rondstadt also covered.

Anyway, Lowell, Thanks. So glad you're here with us at IMA, "willing" us along. A better friend we could not have!

Photos begin with one when were in the Svelts (1968), and also in our earlier days, when Jean and I were an acoustic duo playing backyard gigs and hootenannies ... that's where we cut our teeth before going electric! It was great training for everything upcoming, and so much fun. I'm still so glad that those influences are so present on the first Fanny album: 1970. The last shot was taken in Paris, during the one time we played there, on a tv show, and we did an ad hoc interview the next day. That was the photographer's first "real" session, she had just basically come along for the ride! I'm thankful. xx

Hi June, I was born in 1970 and I'm a big fan of Fanny since...well...uhm...yesterday. πŸ˜‚ I stumbled over the videos from 1971 by German Beat Club. Your music was so bombastic that I was smiling all the time and listened over and over. I play e-guitar by now for 40 years and listen to your music as a musican. Best wishes from Germany! πŸ˜€

I think June Millington was a good guitarrist but she was never as talented and good singer as Nicky Barclay , She was the real rocker voice and genius of Fanny , it is a pity that We can't hear from Nickey anymore and we only hear about June Millington lousy songs
