While Logan Paul is in the title of this thing, my main focus here is to examine consumerist culture on youtube in general and the way audience's react to it, to sort of bask myself in how bizarre and over the top it all is.

in this video I'll be talking about logan paul, Ksi and Prime the drink that they released, I'll also be talking about other keywords like: shane dawson, jeffree star, their makeup, jake paul, mrbeast and matthew beem!!!

Mr. Beast climbing a mountain just to name it after a corporation is some actual Infinite Jest shit

That moment where Mr. Beast claims a mountain in Antarctica is so ridiculous because all the mountains in Antarctica ALREADY HAVE NAMES! I'm not smart enough to identify the specific mountain from the video, but if Mr. Beast & his crew were able to climb it, then it's definitely been climbed before. It's like if I climbed Mt. Everest & said "I now declare this the Walmart Peak," like?? NO, that's not how it works! I know his videos are meant for a young audience, but come on dude! Antarctica isn't a free-for-all billboard. I'm about to sound like an old man yelling at clouds, but I'm glad I grew up watching actual documentaries about Antarctica instead of having my baby brain scrambled by Mr. Beast.

It was so disturbing that someone was able to have a full PR redemption after profiting off the dead.

Now is definitely a good time to remind everyone that Logan is an actor. He's not been in anything good, but it's a profession he's seriously pursued and so he probably knows how to act earnest when he wants to, for the camera.

I'm a primary teacher. Seeing kids argue over prime, use prime as a bragging tool / insulting tool, bragging about how much their parents spent on prime on facebook. Hell, even one kid brought in multiple bottles to show off into one of my classes ??? Like IDK how to explain to them that they're being exploited

Your editing skills and video quality has flown off the roof since the last time I saw your channel. Keep up the good work.

With how much these people advertise to kids, I think its more important than ever to teach kids about how marketing works and how even celebrities they like will still sponsor shady stuff just for the sake of money

Mr. Beast calling a mountain Shopify should be internationally considered vandalism.

I want to make the world a place where nobody will ever name a mountain after a sponsorship ever again.

The mountain being called Shopify is the most dystopian thing I have heard in a while, and it gives me an impending sense of doom.

Using tumblr as my main social media for years now has really skewed my view of advertising because it's so easy to forget that this kinda shit is happening when the most famous user to take a brand deal on tumblr was essentially bullied off the site. With about seven ad-blockers on firefox and an extension that skips sponsorships on YouTube, I so rarely actually see an ad anymore and wow, I did not realise how genuinely dystopian we've gotten.

the segment about the prime thumbnails- while very funny- DID make me think about how youtube thumbnails and the hyper-capitalized culture that goes along with them will be talked about in the future when put into context with the rest of art history. we don't think much of it now because its so ingrained with how we live, it's not even really thought of as art, but it is art- it is art the same way that billboard ads for coca cola in the 1950s are art. it makes me so eager to go into the future and talk to someone who's seen the movement play out and into the next one.

I feel so disturbed after watching this. The way advertisement is so embedded in everything these days is honestly chilling. Everything feels like it's trying to sell you something. And people like logan Paul benefit off of it. Someone who has done so many questionable things has people flocking to shops for some mediocre drink and profits off of them. I need to lie down. This was a great video.

As a nicaraguan, that Truman Show scene of the cocoa ad it's even funnier cause we're not a mount, we're a country lmao

This is fascinating. Prime showed up in my grocery store idek, last summer? Had no idea it was an influencer drink, just was curious. It's a very striking bottle, okay? And it was fine? Very unremarkable. Too expensive for the size, tbh. I had no idea people were going crazy for it. Wild.

We're surrounded by advertisement so much, I think a lot of people have become desensitised. It just feels suffocating to be surrounded by ads 24/7, which is something the internet has granted us with. And the internet being a huge part of our lives, it's inescapable really.

I've always wondered why they'd choose the brand name Prime when Amazon already had a huge product named "Prime." It's like they couldn't think of a name while watching Amazon Prime.
