What are some other unexpected casting choices in movies that you think really paid off?

Itā€™s always a little special to get through a film and not recognize any actors. Extra immersion

He could have easily cashed in on his Twilight fame but chose to do more indie stuff, that alone shows he wants to challenge himself and do something different.

Robert Pattinson is such and interesting and eccentric actor, itā€™s sad how misunderstood he he is as an actor. What he did with The Devil All The Time and The King was just so risky but his performance pays off so much. The fact heā€™s always able to see how flawed the character heā€™s gonna play is and then he plays into it even more. (Just genius) He doesnā€™t take himself so seriously and thatā€™s whatā€™s makes him so interesting, because Robert loves acting like he doesnā€™t know what heā€™s doing and how he donā€™t think he can act.šŸ˜‚ Robert Pattinson is one of the most interesting, fun and dynamic actors working rn.

Iā€™m so glad heā€™s been able to turn his career around. Heā€™s the definitive live action humanistic Batman (Rest in Peace Kevin Conroy, the definitive Batman)

Good Time was the reason why Robert Pattinson was cast as Batman in The Batman according to Director Matt Reeves. His version is inspired by Kurt Cobain from the band Nirvana as Matt Reeves wanted a grungy look on his Batman. I couldn't believe Rob pulled it off as Batman after I saw The Lighthouse and Tenet. He's a great actor now than when he was almost 15-20 years ago.

Itā€™s so wild to me people HATED the performances in twilight to the point of branding Rob and Kristen as the ā€œworst actors everā€ when they legitimately did a PERFECT job portraying the characters they were hired to play. R-patt has always been vocal about his disdain for Edward and Twilight as a whole but heā€™s always been amazing at completely embodying characters.

good casting > good actors. good casting + good actors = magic.

The Lighthouse definitely isn't for everyone, but I absolutely loved it. I never really had reason to assume Pattinson couldn't act (hadn't seen Twilight, not into Batman, hadn't heard of any other projects of his, & anyway I try to always assume people can impress) ... but he absolutely BLEW ME AWAY with his performance, not just in a "Wow dude can act" way but in a "Wow dude can act on a level most people absolutely can't" way. He's BRILLIANT. I'm thrilled he's been deliberately going for ambitious roles & I'm excited to see what he does in the future.

I feel like Robert Patterson has done such an amazing job at avoiding being typecast as "that guy from Twilight". I also love the way he presents himself on camera, as a real person and a character in a movie.

I was a teenager when Twilight came out and it wasn't as terrible as people say(the first one), it was kinda fun to watch and had really great soundtracks and the director for movie killed it and it was obvious Pattinson is a high level actor, the role he plays is cheesy and but he was clearly playing the character as best as anybody can and I always knew he's gonna be successful, people who were surprised that he's Actually a great Actor are just naive, just because the movie became a meme it didn't mean he's a bad actor, of course they shit on him for becoming Batman as much as they could but he was clearly gonna silence people.

i think what they did with a mix of both in uncut gems was flawless . have the lead be a professional & majority of the supports be real people & itā€™s gold .

The thing is... Twilight never made Robert a bad actor, he had to do what the script and character asked him to do and he did it šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Robert is one of the best actors of this generation hands down. He's done these niche weird indie films because he's proving his talent & range - i.e. challenging himself - what us actors do.

Man I love these brothersā€™ films. They really know how to raise your anxieties and surprise us with unusual casting that always turns out perfect.

Pattison's best acting is evident in (a) David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis and (b) The Lighthouse. Both incredible movies, watch if you haven't

Pattinson is my favourite actor today. Feels like the old-school Hollywood actors. A unique personality, without your typical look or demeanour, and of course just a phenomenal actor. Brings something different to the screen.

For me, Robert's performance in The Rover was absolutely fantastic. He played a broken and naive character, very different from his Twilight persona. In The Rover, his performance was so pure - you felt for the character and wanted him to survive. That's when I called my good friend's at DC Comics and told them, "Cast this guy as Batman! GET HIM NOW. He's Hot".

This video alone will probably lead to so many unheard of actors getting roles so I am in full support of this video and I'm proud of you for making it
