TO have an AoE set in Antiquity on the DE2 engine will be superb!!
With regionally correct A,B,S units such as a Roman legionary skin for the Roman legion as well as Copesh wielding infantry for the Egyptians and so on. As well as Unique unit for each civ. Similar to AoE2.
With all the DE1 Civs + new ones such as:
Parthians
Nubians/Kushites/Kingdom of Kerma
Israelites
Philistines
Canaanites
Ancient Armenia
Medes Nomadic empire vs Assirie + Babylon
Celts
Galls
Germania
Goths
Greater Zimbabwe
Peoples from the Indus valley.
Xiongnu

Especially happy with AoM finally getting a remaster! Regardless of additional content, a long-awaited facelift is indeed on its way.
Also very on-board with the AoE2 news - methinks a rework of the Attila campaign is forthcoming. Hoping the AoE1 civs can intermingle with the AoE2 guys - after all, it's not like that would be any more ahistorical than Incas VS Huns.

I have to disagree on your statement to AoE Mobile. I used to say also let ppl do what they want, as long as it doesn't impact you. But it won't be just another game and/or source of income. If it turns out to be profitable, maybe even exceedingly (usually thx to the asian market), they will shift their focus from the main series to the mobile one. Depending on what it will introduce in terms of both monetisation or other systems and features and depending how good it's going to be received by the mobile player base, it most likely will even influence the main game series as well, assuming they do another one after a big success.
We have seen it time and time again, so it's also not just speculation and/or pessimism. Just look at what happened to C&C and the mobile version was received even poorly (at least here, don't know how it is in the asia). I mean the success of MOBAs is the main reason why RTS games almost died and it came from a mod for an RTS game aka WC3 (how ironic).
This is not only about mobile games either. Games in general aren't made in a bubble. If something succeeds, especially a new and/or more profitable way of monetisation, sooner or later others will try to copy it and it will influence something you use or like and thereby impact you as well. We saw it with Overwatch popularizing loot boxes or Fortnite popularizing Battle passes and all the other things we have now like DLCs, preorder boni, MTX and so on.

4:17 This statement is only correct if they try to release a creapy game. But if they actuelly try to make a good game with good code then it can becomes expensive really fast.
