Happy Obon! ヘ(・౪・ヘ) Summertime is the spooky season in Japan (chills keep the heat away) so I’ve created a song to reflect a Japanese ghost story. I originally wrote a little portion of it a long time ago and wanted to flesh it out fully. Obon is a holiday to honor the dead and is more sacred and fun for families than scary, so the song reflects the rest of the summer when scary stories are told. (Obon was my deadline!)

I wrote lyrics that were creepy to me, but my native mother-in-law says my Japanese is too cutesy to be scary to her, so this was a good lesson in cultural horror! ("hai hai? like a baby's crawl? that's too cute.") Special thanks to her for language consultation and to my very dear, very patient brother for mastering it!

I do hope you enjoy "Hush" as I put my heart and soul into it, and had so much fun taking on a creepy little persona. If you are in Japan (or Hawaii) during this time, I hope you dance at Bon Matsuri!

This song reminds me of a ghost encounter that happened to me. I was 8 years old when it happened. My bed was facing the closet, I also suffer from Nyctophobia, fear of the dark and things in it, which is strange because I love night. So there I was, no nightlight, when suddenly, I hear something from my closet, a light scratching at first, I assumed it was one of the 4 cats I had and fell asleep, when suddenly, I hear, a girls voice sounding similar to Ashley Serena's, it said "What's yours is mine, what's mine is mine." Then a light laughter. How I fell asleep after that I have no idea, but when I did, I swear I saw something, a dark figure with yellow eye, watching me. When I checked the closet the next morning, there was nothing.

The fact that I do like Japanese music this sounds awesome and the Kitune Girl looks like she has a Kabuki mask but it’s probably face painting🇯🇵❤️🇯🇵

Your costume and make looks amazing. Very unearthly and haunting. Your lyrics are truly haunting and creepy, but still has that tad of cuteness

I've always loved Asian/Japanese horror. A good slow burn with a nice, gory jumpscare or screamer at the end if you're lucky. Sometimes the scares are more subtl- Holy Jesus that door creak at the end scared me.. okay nope onto a different song.

I'm going to look over to my closet and see a ghost. They can come in my house, but that's the chill this song gives me. Especially the voice.

Dang!!! This is the most awesome thing I've seen all year, no joke! It's haunting, cute, and really cool! I love the costume. I showed this to my little sister and she asked why you were wearing a cat costume and I said it's because you're just the greatest. lol
