she is... INCREDIBLE!!!! I think SO many people needed to hear her message of not stressing out and enjoying the drums, its so easy as a new drummer to get overwhelmed by the insane drummers on social media. what Jess shows is insane driving beat with simplicity that anyone can lock in with a few months of practice. i cannot stress enough how helpful she is!!!

I KNEW I recognized Jess! Pop and Pop Punk outside my listening bubble. I literally just paused this and went and rewatched Count Me In. So good. I love her energy behind the kit…..she makes me smile when she drums….sure she’s great and has chops…but more importantly her playing brings a smile to my face and has me tapping my foot.

My favorite part of the lesson was something that was shown, not told, and that's her right foot technique. The way she's keeping her heel in the up position so she can collapse down for a powerful heel toe when she wants it, and she's driving the entire weight of her leg from the hip down for a powerful smack into that batter head. As a drum teacher this is one of the hardest concepts to teach and have a student consistently adhere to it, she put on a master class in it.

Hearing Jess play and seeing how much fun she was having while doing it was worth the lesson alone, but definitely enjoyed all the tips and tricks. My favorite part of the lesson for me was hearing Jess talk about by adding "a little something" to spice up a song can be something as simple as just changing the playing surface and adding dynamics. Thanks for the Drumeo lesson!
