I may be late commenting on this video and maybe no one will see this comment, but I come here every morning and every day because of my depression. This soothing music helped me a lot. I just wanted to say thank you for letting me get through the hard times💓.

I was a high school senior in 1988. I liked a lot of the 88 songs but not many of these still prefer the early 80's music the latter part.

I was in 3rd grade. Had no idea what the lyrics meant but I still loved it. Miss my generation. The music just doesn't compare to what's out today. We had it better. Gen X

Robin Thicke mentioned Martina the other night on masked singer and I think that's who Debbie Gibson was. Jenny got it right away. I love Robin Thicke.

A LOT of these were from the later part of 1988, or recorded in 1988, and charted or were big in the clubs in 1989. As a DJ who was playing tunes around town through high school graduation in June '88, most of these tracks were songs I got exposed to during college Freshman year. Funny how the milestone of graduation and going off to college compartmentalized music (FOR ME) into the 80s ending that summer of 88 and most of these songs being filed as '90s or at least 80's90s-transition -- I just don't think of the music from college being 80s. Correspondingly, Nirvana/Grunge and U2/Achtung Baby really defined the Start of 90s music for me. So, yeah, this is that changeover period.
