NEW THE CYCLING DOC POST: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cb9ma...
CHANNEL: www.youtube.com/channel/UCNOu...

CYCLING IS NOT BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH, but there are a few negative consequences for your longevity and overall well-being resulting from the highly specific adaptations that come from riding a bike regularly.

How Cycling CAN BE Bad For Your Health And How To Prevent These Consequences

This video will help explain the five major adaptations that your body undergoes from riding a bike, how they could negatively impact your health off the bike and how to address them. The resources and stretches I mention are listed below.

NEW The Cycling Doc post up to help with inner knee pain

https://youtu.be/h275kcI5e8Q

Cycling Inner Knee Pain Relief | What I specifically did to fix mine

In this video, I break down what rehab/exercises I did to help with my inner knee pain and what you can try at home before having to see a professional.

There are many different tissues/structures that can be the pain generator for your inner knee pain: it could be the medial collateral ligament, the vastus medialis muscle, the medial tibiofemoral joint line or in my case, it could be an obturator nerve entrapment.

If these stretches and these tips I discuss in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vj0zi...) don't help, getting a specific diagnosis and treatment plan is vital.

Hope this helps and be sure to let me know about any questions in the comments.

There is something about cycling that breeds obsession like no other sport.

This new project of mine is to marry my obsession for cycling with my obsession for helping others improve their health and reach their desired potential.

Ride healthy. Ride better. Have fun.

[The Cycling Doc Channel: www.youtube.com/channel/UCNOu... ]

That is what will guide content here. I want to create a channel and resource for cyclists of all levels to enjoy cycling more by staying healthy and injury-free, resolving injuries when they come up, learn science and strategies to increase their performance and create race, ride and any content that will help cyclists of most all cyclists get better.

For as far out as I can see, everything is going to be free and not paywalled.

Whether we are talking

- rehab plans for injuries
- Training plans for off the bike
- How to bike fit yourself
- Travel, race or other adventure content
- Nutritional guidance
- Breakdowns of the emerging new science of training
- Basically, anything that can help to entertain you or help you enjoy cycling more and do faster while doing it

There are so many other cycling channels out there but I am yet to see something that creates resources from an actual health care provider, that are backed by real - not bro - science from someone who rides.

The adventures, beers, coffees, laughs, PRs, races/fondos and lifelong relationships that come with this beautiful sport can only happen if your body is functioning well enough to allow it and it is my job to make sure you know how to keep it working.

I hope that you will follow along on my journey to become the best cyclist I can be while going on some great adventures and that you will let me into your life to help you do the same.

Ride strong!

Pain Under The Shoulder Blade!? šŸŽÆ TRY THIS AT HOME

www.instagram.com/p/B-xKTdwguKc/

When I get a shift in the rib cage joints - that sharp pain under or beside the shoulder blade - I quickly bust a move to see my chiropractor for an unscheduled visit

But since that is not likely an option for you and me right now, I wanted to put something together to you in case this nasty issue pops-up

If this is a rare occurrence for you, I wouldnā€™t worry too much about it and proceed through these drills until it resolves.

But if this is something that is happening more frequently, as I suspect it will for a lot of people quarantined and working from home, this is something that youā€™re going to want to get checked out when things return back to normal. If you check my page you will see a post for ā€œshoulder strengthā€ that you could use in a more preventative manner then these exercises for an acute problem

If you are just learning that that pain under your shoulder blade is a joint then I hope that the relief you get from these exercises is a welcome change and at least now you know that what you thought was a muscle night is actually more likely a joint between the spine and the rib

Take care
