This album has helped me through the entirety of 2022 and 2023. Itās been my number one album before meeting my actual first boyfriend, and now at its ending. Itās been soothing me as I grew and got hurt over and over again. Now, as that relationship of a year and almost three months is about to end, I look back and realizeā¦this album represents growth. Not only did Mitski evolve musically, with more synthesizers and sounds involved in her songs, but also as a person. This is the first time an album of Mitski ends in a positive note, where the narrator left their toxic relationship, and for good, all she can do now is look back and remember that memory as that, only a memory, not something she has to go through again and again in this endless cycle. She can now be free. Or well, thatās at least the way I see it, now that things are ending with my relationship.
Thank you Mitski, you helped me when I had no one, I hope someone helped you too when you were there.
