"As a therapist, I spend a lot of time around minds." I'll remember that one :-)

Screen savers used to actually save the screen from literally damaging itself, but that was a LOOOONG time ago. Old CRT monitors, in the early days with just green monochrome displays (see the movie War Games), before we got all these newer LCD / TFT screens, used to be left on the same screen all the time, for example the data-entry screen for whatever the company or government agency does. Like at the DMV most of the time it'd be a screen for entering a driver's name and address. Without the screen saver, the lit up portions of the screen would literally start to melt or burn after a month or so of the same image non-stop, such that you could still see that image burned into the glass after turning the computer off. Modern screens don't have that problem. Interestingly, I think this actually kind of matches your mental screen saver analogy.

It's total bullshit that my mental screensaver replays my life's fail compilation over and over💢

Sorry for the comment not being directly related to the video, but I figured I should say that I've been binging your videos since when I found the channel through the Better Call Saul videos. This introspective, clever and mindful content is what I crave the most on YouTube and as such I appreciate that you make the effort to share your thoughts here. It's very nice stuff, thank you.
