I’m pretty sure those capacitors save the esc from completely burning up as their function is to regulate and store over voltage and amperage. Thought I could hear a “pop” right when it happened. Awesome runs prior to that though. This car really hauls! Congrats on achieving 1000 subs brother! You got up there fast!👊🏼💯🍻

normally cap packs pop and save the esc but in your case doing the speedruns is the esc a ticking time 🎉

Caps help smooth out voltage for the esc's FET helps with voltage and amp spikes too

The Quicrun is a nice and affordable ESC for normal usage. For an Openwheeler on 3S with low gear ratio and a heavy motor, its definitely to weak 😅 I hope you could fix it with new caps.

You should be able to replace the cap pack with a larger one, or make your own. I know they sale them people add on to ones that have them made inside, just a ideal and they cheap. It might not have burned it up and it wouldn't have throttle because the caps hold the power to get it rolling kinda like they kickstart it, but yea you can buy them already made and bigger. I'm not positive but if you cooked it I would think it would not work at all and I know people put bigger cap packs on them for speed runs and more power. If you are handy in electronics there are videos showing how to make your own but I would probably buy one as cheap as I've seen them on eBay and other stuff. But yes you are right about how you explained them, lol, they keep to much from being pulled from the battery and ESC.

If I had to guess the cap that fell off must have shorted long enough for the terminals to get so hot the solder went bye bye - if nothing else in your esc got cooked, and assuming the other cap isn’t shorted, you should be able to still run - I’d cut the wires going to the caps temporarily and try it maybe?

So I got my car out and did some more speed runs and did one at a time like you said to do. I think I have too much gear for the motor I was only able to 71 on the last run and it went into thermal shutdown. I think I’ll be getting a bigger motor and trying again

Bro yesterday I was running my slash same esc lol I did a flip took off flying then it didn’t wanna run no more but steering is good I just had to wait like 30 minutes then it’ll go forward reverse but then just stop lol 😂 though it was programming cutting off lipo but checked my batteries 80% on a 3s and 90% on a 2s lol 😂 idk what is wrong with it atm

Solder the capacitors bro but becareful bro I had a homie die he touched a capictor discharged on him and boom just like that ded always discharge before handling them
