When myself, a Turkish citizen went for my OCI interview with my Indian husband to the Indian embassy, I was clearly told not to participate in any political activities in India.
I didn't just agree to it, I will make sure that I will never break this one rule the country has asked me to follow, while it has graced me with the Visa to visit this beautiful country at will.
You broke that rule. So what did you expect will happen?

He participated in anti CAA protests which was a clear violation of Indian Visa Regulatory Authority . Any foreign national visiting India isn't allowed to Participate In any sort of Political Activity or events , doing so will lead to permanent Ban or Blacklisting of the Individual

I’ve been separated from my wife for a while because of the pandemic and flights being difficult (she’s in Pakistan and I’m American, and the US sucks when it comes to spouse visas). Indian law Strictly says foreigners before entering India not to take part in any protest or political rally, If my memory serves me right a few years before a Bangladeshi actor gets deported for participating in a political rally in Kolkata.

many news and media outlet says, ur blacklisting from india is due to the fact, that you participated in anti caa protest as well as you also did some kind of business on your tourist visa. these could be some of the reasons why your visa got revoked. and your visa is blacklisted for a year only (not sure, this is what is read in news).

Beware that there’s a lot of miss information in the comments. When it’s safe for me to do so, I’ll tell you why the Govt. came for me (with proof). But right now if I do that, my blacklisting could be extended.
