I also really love how after the lyrics "the song was true and the sky was .....," you would automatically assume 'the sky was blue' because it rhymes nicely and it's a common phrase in poetry and songwriting (because, again, 'blue' rhymes with so many words). However, I love that Maisie chose to say "the sky was black" because it really emphasizes the feeling that she is trying to get across in the song-- it did not go how it was supposed to ('this wasn't how it's supposed to go' if you will). The sky was not blue like it should have been. It was not a John Hughes movie. She'd lost her personal best. She'd sung the best songs she would ever sing. The sky was black and it was awful and heartbreaking. Two weeks ago, the sky was blue, and now I wish it was two weeks ago.

This just hits too much all the memories coming back all the regrets and someone gets it thankyou maisie. I've been listening to this on repeat and having a good cry. God i wish this came out a few months ago when it was the most raw but I'm glad it's here now wounds take time to heal.
