Years ago someone made an apple that tastes like a grape, and I've always wanted to try it. However, they apparently don't exist anymore. So now, I think the only way I can taste one, is to make it myself.

100% some farmers sprayed bird stop on their apple trees and noticed it tasted like grape. That percentage on both the patent and bird stop is too suspicious.

If Nile stops uploading we know why the Graple went out of business

The reason that the company "disappeared" is because they got out of the game before it became publicly known that they were selling people apples dipped in bird repellent. The chemical does in fact say "Keep out of reach of children" and "If swallowed contact poison control immediately"

that 26.4% on both the paper and the bird stop is highly suspicious. something tells me that is exactly how they made it.

26.4% for their recipe, 26.4% in bird stop.. I wonder why it was discontinued

I've been looking for Grapples for YEARS. They were absolutely delicious, I cannot describe how tasty they were. Thank you for sharing this information---you have brought me comfort and closure. Keep doing what you do.

I’m so glad you’re a youtuber and not a bosnian war criminal.

I love that the label says "if swallowed contact poison control immediate". Proceeds to taste spoonful of it.

They used bird repellent too. If you look in the left column on the paper at 1:30 around the 25 mark it says that they used a 26.4% mixture manufactured by Bird-X and sold under the name Bird Shield. This is probably exactly how they made the Grāpples😂

I by chance tried one of these apples back when they were available in 2011, a coworker offered me one since you could only buy them in packs of three. It was as you described, a mild grape flavor, but it faded the deeper you ate into the apple until it tasted like a regular fuji apple. The next time I was in the produce section at the grocery store, I looked for these things and about fell over when I saw the price, it was $6-7 for just three of these apples, and that was in 2011 dollars. You could buy a whole bag of like 10-12 fuji apples for that price. I never heard about any recalls for health effects of those apples, they just didn't sell well and faded from existence. I've seen several weird fruit hybrids or "designer" fruits pop up in the produce section over the decades, and they never stay around for long because they're either too expensive or aren't appealing for one fruit to taste like another.

When I first started the video and I saw the bird stop, I went "Ah cool, so he's going to separate out the Methyl Anthranilate from the bird stop before diluting it." Then the video went on. "... he's going to separate out the Methyl Anthranilate from the poison, right?" He did not, in fact, separate the Methyl Anthranilate. Homeboy just dunked an apple in 73.6% mystery chemicals and ate it.

I remember being a little kid in Wisconsin in the early 2000s buying Grapples. We didn’t have them all that often because they were expensive, but they were delicious. I think about them like once I year, so it was cool to see how they were made. When I was 5 I thought they were made by some sort of genetic breeding, but it never made sense for obvious reasons. Thanks for the amazing content!

We used to have an old apple tree that only have a few apples, but they tasted like gooseberries. It was kind of weird but really delicious. I miss that tree and those apples.
