Avril got me out of Depression.
I remember being so motivated by her music while suffering from depression when I was 17.
I lost interest in everything, even stopped listening to Music. One day, Girlfriend just immediately popped up in my head out of the blue. I eventually stumbled upon Let Go and fell in love with her.
Her Tomboyish Skater Girl Phase was everything to me. Like the Girl of my dreams. What began as an Admiration for her Music, and a Stupid little crush, ended up getting me out of Depression and happy again.
Now 27 after a Decade, I can look back with warmth. This song instantly took me back to 2002. I got into Pop-punk by around 2010.
So yeah, Thanks a lot Avril. You will always be the Girl of my dreams and a part of me will always have a stupid little crush on you 💖

It’s crazy bc this is the sound that is missing :) it doesn’t matter what era were in her sound is unique & something needed in the industry. How she continues to give me early 2000s pop in 2022 is beyond me ❤️😭
