I really like how it goes from "i know my mother wants me dead" to "im pretty sure she wants me dead" its a small difference, but it adds a lot, it's like a doubt almost, thinking, but not really knowing for sure.

My great-uncle ended up developing several disorders due to the countless drugs he used in his youth, which is why he had to live at my great-grandmother's house so she could take care of him. He had an extreme addiction to cigarettes, so much so that he would become aggressive if he didn't have them, no matter how much his mother tried to get him to stop the habit. He died in 2023, I dedicate this song to him.

The contradiction between her stage name literally being carolesdaughter because she loved her mother so much and the drug fueled paranoia of this song insisting her mother wants her dead is so fascinating and makes me feel so seen. That insistent voice in your head insisting the ones you love most hate you? She gets it, she's heard it too, and she survived to make this art.
