I've been feeling especially down on myself recently. As though I have wasted the last several years due to depression and health issues. I turn 33 this year and sometimes I'm convinced I haven't accomplished a single thing. Then I open YT and you've uploaded this. You never fail to help me feel more positive. Despite hardships, mental/physical health issues, you never give up. It's really, really inspiring Martina. I hope you know how much you brighten people's day by just being you. Happy birthday!! ❤❤

This video made me tear up. Martina, I (like many others) have grown up watching your content. One of the biggest lessons you’ve taught me is how to retain my sense of joy and silliness for all the small things in life. As I get older and have more and more responsibility, I feel more pressure to act “grown up” and get lost in the expectations of those around me. Whenever I watch your videos, they remind me to take the time to appreciate and be grateful for every small detail in my day to day life that makes me happy and not lose that sense of childlike wonder. I can’t thank you enough for that, and oh also!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! ❤

I have been watching your videos for over 13 years now. Through the ups and downs, lows and highs, laughter and tears. Thank you for letting us come on this journey with you. Happy 40th birthday, Martina! Here's to the next 40 years, and hopefully beyond ❤❤❤
Here are a few things that make me happy:
-Swimming pools on hot summer days
-Ice cream
-The sound of crickets chirping on a still night
-Opening a new pack of pens/markers
-Cute earrings
-Doodling in the corners of notebooks
-Fireworks
-Petting dogs (and seeing wagging tails!)
-Watching the sunset on ocean waters
-Late night conversations
-Warm blankets on a cold day
-Fresh baked bread
-Handwritten notes on pretty stationary
-Visiting with family or old friends that I may not have seen for a while, yet it feels like no time has passed at all :)

I've always loved Martina's view she provides into her world. In my good days and bad. Her finding ways to express the joys in life through photos, videos, and music. Everything from wild flowers to exotic shrines. In every phase and period of life you can always gain from being reminded to appreciate what's around you. Even if you're in the best time of your life, appreciating little things can help keep you there just as much as the big stuff.

Martina, without sounding too cheesy, I can honestly say that YOU spark joy! I have followed along on your adventures for many years now, and I’m so grateful for the sunshine that you bring to what can seem like a pretty dark world. With my own 40th birthday coming up this Fall, I think I’m going to take a page out of your book and practice some more gratitude for all the little blessings I have in my life, so thank you for the inspiration! I wish you the happiest of birthdays and many many more little sparks of joy to come 💚

The thing that sparked joy for me is that when you mentioned that your own birthday wish is that there's somewhere from your clips that sparked joy for someone else, from a stranger to a stranger. It literally brought my to tears. I've been feeling like I've been alone recently but for some reason that gave me hope, it tells me that there are still good things in this cruel world haha. Thank you Martina. You are a lovely gift to this world.

As someone who had quite a serious health scare a couple of years ago, I absolutely agree with you. We should celebrate the tiny things and be grateful for each year we get to grow older. Some of us don't get the chance to and we should stop being so afraid of aging. It is a gift, not a curse. A very happy birthday to you, Martina <3 You look glowing and I cannot wait to see your continuous journey on this crazy rollercoaster called life :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARTINA 🥰
Some of my little joys:
- Splashing my face with cool water like I’m in a Neutrogena ad
- Fluffy socks
- Finding a snack I forgot I had
- Collecting all the hair bands I leave around my flat so that they’re (briefly) all in their box
- when you blow out a candle and it smells like birthdays
That was fun 🥳

Dear Martina,
I have been watching your content since I was 15. I originally started watching your content for Kpop and learning about Korea, but I stayed for you. You are such an inspiration to me. I used to be in a dark place as well, but your videos and motto “build a ladder” taught me to find joy in the small things. Since I learned this lesson from you I have become such a grateful and joyous person. You and your content truly helped shape who I am today. Your message is so, so important and we are blessed you are sharing it with us. I’ve always been a pretty silent fan but I’ve been here, and I’ve been learning from you all this time. Thank you Martina ❤ you truly are amazing and I love you so much ❤ Happy 40th Birthday 🥳🧁🎈🎁 can’t wait to continue learning from you and watching your amazing content ❤️❤️❤️
From,
A long time fan (now 27 years old).

Funny thing is, I found several years ago, that the big things in life often don't bring happiness. its the small joys in life, a chocolatechip cookie along a good cup of coffee, or raindrops running down a window, or listening to music in my car... its the small joys :) ohhh and congratz on joining the 40 club :)

Happy Birthday Martina. Your authenticity and honesty before the camera and in your creations are inspiration and joy to watch.
I’m turning 40 next month and by now I’m grateful for every birthday. Like you said not everyone gets to turn 40, and there’s reason and purpose for the time each of us are given in this world.
I wholeheartedly second the deliberate practice of finding joy in life. It may seem fake or twee to some, but such simple and small habits over years really does gradually change your overall outlook of life, and protects you from all the excessively negative biases that your mind churns out.
Get well soon, and here’s to the best decade in your life to come.

Happy Birthday Martina! And thank you for sharing with us your build a ladder philosophy 😁 Here are some things that spark joy for me: Fresh veggies Colourful markets Cute stickers Flowers Fluffy pillows A cute wallpaper on my phone or computer A warm cup of spiced tea The sea ... As I am writing this I realized that there are many things that give me joy. I want to incorporate the habit of looking for small things that spark joy every day, to be able to find them on my dark days as well 🤗
