I enjoy your interpretations of Aurora's music. If I may add, I also think on a very basic level she's talking about human conflict and war. She has been very active advocating for peace in Gaza. The opening discussing the heart as a muscle or a fist covered in blood I think is very much a symbol of how the heart can represent humanist ideas of love but also that of conflict and that this new type of skin is one of understanding and peace. The chorus of "My God it's a lot" I think is as much a pleading as it is an exclamation of frustration at what mankind does to itself through misunderstanding, tribalism, religion etc.....leading to conflict, hatred, destruction and death.

Much love to you, Balaura! I believe that your strong mind and spirit will make you victorious in your battles against dark times. Thank you - dear warrior - for coming back to share your analysis of this song. Your interpretation reminds me of John Lennon's (and Yoko Ono's) peace-anthem, "Imagine". (An AURORA cover of that song would go well with her cover of "Across the Universe"). Now, we have three of the sixteen new songs from her upcoming double LP, "What Happened to the Heart?" (June 7th). More magic medicine-music for humanity is on the way!

A little insight from Aurora on this one “I’ve always been told that I should build some type of skin. I’ve always let myself merge too much with the world, not really knowing where the world ends and I begin,” AURORA explained of the inspiration behind the track. “This song screams the muchness of it. And it’s delicious. Being human is really delicious, even though it’s more than any of us can handle. My god it’s a lot.” Nice reaction, thanks!
