In this video, we take a deep-dive into the Soap-Opera that is LuLaRoe. Deanne and Mark's exponential rise to stratospheric success in the MLM world with their women's clothing empire has piqued the interest of many involved in the Anti-MLM movement, me included. But looking around online, there were so many Facebook groups and Reddit forums where people are documenting every move of this fascinating company - and I just wanted to make a kind of documentary - getting all the information together in a linear fashion and helping people learn about this crazy company.

There was SO MUCH information, though, that I've had to split the video into 2 parts! In this first part, we look at the beginnings of the company, how it is structured, how the demise of LuLaRoe came to be, and the multiple lawsuits they are facing accusing them of being a pyramid scheme and of not paying their clothing manufacturer $33 million for clothes.

Next time I'll be diving into Deanne and Mark's family (those who are also involved in LuLaRoe), Deanne and Mark Stidham's lavish lifestyle including their multi-million dollar ranch, tax evasion, private jets and holidays on exotic islands, and Mark's little habit of buying some of the world's most expensive supercars.
I also look into why so many MLMs are based in Utah, their connection with the Mormon church, and where all of that money from MLMs is REALLY going.

I have to give special thanks to Becca Peter and also Roberta Blevins. Their contribution to the Anti-MLM movement online and Becca's amazing ability to find LLR lawsuit resources on the DefectiveDetectives subreddit has been an AMAZING resource for me.

I've never participated in an MLM. Why am I binge watching anti-MLM videos?

My mom told me I should try to buy some clothing from LulaRoe and she added, "because it looks like your style." ...I was insulted

I’m gonna try the “your anger is a choice, choose to be happy” at my retail customer service job and see how it goes 😂

I'm an exMormon and Mark's "crying" at 19:33 is the classic manipulative bullshit I saw in my church for nearly 30 years. The LDS church and it's business holdings even has a formal training for this emotion-filled sales tactic called "HeartSell." Yikes.

"Hospital gowns, but make it fashion!" I am DYING, as I just bought three USED LuLaRoe dresses on ThreadUp to wear after I have abdominal surgery next week.

''Do you wanna keep being angry? isn't it nicer just choosing to be happy'' He says, choosing to cry about it.

So we’re just gonna gloss over her calling 9/11 an “amazing experience”?

I used to work for the LuLaRoe home office amd we had to sit through those webinars every week. Everything these people touched turned to crap. Every policy they attempted to implement was horribly implemented. Any launch they did was horribly executed. I feel awful for every retailer affected by this family of retailers amd embarassed that I ever worked for this family. If you are a national media outlet and want to talk I'm willing to sing like a canary. I can't wait to be in court when they start to lose cases.

Omg. As a former Mormon, Mark’s tone is really normal for a church member. His performative tears mimic the tone a Mormon uses when sharing their “testimony” in front of others. Getting emotional about things that matter the most to them, choosing to be (fake) happy, preaching kindness... .....zero accountability.

Bleh. Embarrassed to say I used to be a LLR consultant from 2016-2017. They were an absolute nightmare to deal with. They always made you feel like everything was your fault and that we were bat shit crazy. Ended up cutting my losses, and donated my inventory.

People spend thousands of dollars into moldy clothes and the guy has the nerves to say "Well it's your choice to be upset" 😱

I almost joined lularoe in 2017. I had just given birth to my son and, having gained 50 lbs during my pregnancy, I was desperate to find clothes that were comfy and hid my weight gain. I wanted out of my maternity clothes. That’s when a hun approached me with lularoe leggings. I was so happy to wear something “fun” that fit me. I was out on maternity leave and we didn’t have much money, but they continued to pressure me to buy more and more clothes. Then they came in telling me I could become a consultant and support my family while on maternity leave all while getting “free” clothes. Dream come true! Luckily I didn’t have the money at the time. A year or so later I was shown the evil of MLMs and stopped buying from them.

It still shocks me to this day that 80,000 people were able and willing to drop $5,000 on this. It isn’t cheap like some average $99 - $200 buy in.
