This song has made me happy because it shows how far I have come in a year from being homeless with my 4 children fleeing from severe domestic abuse from my ex husband (mainly mental - gaslighting and narcissism, so many lies from him!) to having an amazing house, job and rekindled with my first and true love. Oh goodness! How is it that Sam doesn't know me but keeps writing songs that are so true to my life's experiences? I went through 4yrs of domestic abuse that has left me 100% disabled due to a chronic pain disorder called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy and severe, daily uncontrollable migraines. I wake up in pain and stay in pain all day. This song perfectly explains my relationship with my ex. Thank God he's an ex! Thank you, Sam. This song is beautiful!
