In this video, we explore the experience of time, aging, and nostalgia. Why do we often look back on and long for our past, even for when times weren't great? How can this phenomenon negatively affect our lives, and what can it teach us about how to live better?

Seeing my parents getting old is like a worst punch in the gut. Time is unforgivable.

Remember, you will either have to live with the pain of discipline, with a pain of regret.

"Youth is the most precious thing in life, it is too bad it has to be wasted on young folks" is such a powerful quote. I think we should embrace and accept that there was and there will be some disappointments in our lives and just try to be the best versions of ourselves. On our deathbeds ( if we are lucky enough to have ones) we will have to choose between being thankful to our lives or having a last day of existential dread.

This brought me to tears... This Christmas will be my first without my wife of 28 years who passed away last Christmas.. tomorrow I turn 50...I feel alone, scared, lonely and so lost. Please be kind to others...you never know what demons they are fighting against.

Wish I could remember the last time my kids asked "Mummy, carry me", the last time they held my hand while walking, the last time they showed me their latest artwork, the last time they told me about a new discovery or friend they made. Rumi - pretend I'm already gone, and love me openly

I really needed to hear this. I’ve been very nihilistic lately , I’ve been rude to my parents, cold and distant from siblings, completely detached from the rest of family

I’ve had an angry cop put a gun to my face, was lost while SCUBA diving 4 miles out from 9am-6:30 pm. Got rescued as the sun was sinking. Had a junkie put a knife to my gut. Not once did I see “My life pass before my eyes” I did think “How much Will it hurt” and “So this is as far as I go” and “This is it” and I do remember saying goodbye. In that moment you notice the breeze, the smells, sounds, colors and how beautiful everything is. Only when everything was said and done did I breakdown each time

I'm 45 this year. Never been married. Life has been good. Ups and downs. But right now, I'm truly just grateful that I'm alive and healthy and have a roof over my head and a job that pays my mortgage. My parents are still alive and healthy. As I get older, everyday that I wake up alive and healthy is a blessing that I count for myself now. Merry Christmas everyone ❤️ 🌲

I lost my dad the day after Father's day this year out of nowhere. He was the rock of my world. Your channel has helped me cope and process his death, not in a better light, but to understand...things and life better. Thank you.

Even though I may not do much with my time off work, I think I’ve found that I’m still enjoying my life how I want. I may stay at home a lot and many would say I’d come to regret it, I would argue that I’m just doing what makes me happy and staying at home sometimes is the best. I may not use my youth to the fullest, but I’m okay with the fact. Live your life how YOU want and never regret it even if nothing was done. Some people just don’t live grand lives and that’s okay because the most important part is that you enjoyed yourself how you wanted.
