Cavetown songs were one of my main sources of happiness a few years ago. I wasnt very happy with my life at the time and i didnt have good friends, the ones i had were horrible for my mental health. I was having a lot of issues with my gender identity and my body as well. These songs were kind of like a safe haven, and every time i hear a cavetown song or hear someone say that they like cavetown, it makes me happy to know other people are finding joy in it too

it's nights like these, getting the notification of a new song and scrolling through the kind and excited comments that are just so amazing. it's not just about the music, i feel like part of a family. you get the notification and now everyone is simultaneously listening to some sweet tunes and having a nice chill little night, all together even if not, like, physically together. makes me feel just a little bit less alone :)))

My little sister always recognizes this song when its playing. I really didnt think I played it that much but apparently I do. I explained what it was about when she asked and she nodded, took a second to process what I said, and sat back down at our kitchen table to do her homework while I finished up mine. She always sings "sitting in a telescope" but doesn't remember any of the other words. I'm at school right now and I miss her a lot, but this song always makes me smile.
