I took a long break from cavetown after my friend passed away two years ago.. When she passed away, I found some comfort in Cavetownās music. But shortly after, I dug myself deeper into a hole where I wanted to go unnoticed- the world felt so different without her, yet everything stayed the same. This song means so much to me. It came out the day after we had to put down my 14 year old cat. It was the most heartbreaking and empty feeling I'd ever experienced but this song came just in time to comfort me. Lyrics like "guess I set you free" and "I left the gate unlocked for you" really gained a new meaning to me after losing her. Rest in peace Tiny.
