Bro I finally made my first whiskey mash this week and boy is it smelling good. I used Blood Butcher Corn , cracked corn, honey malt and 2 row with 5lb honey, 10lb corn sugar, 4lb brown sugar. I’m gonna call it bloody butcher honey bourbon and infuse some honey back in during the 2nd thumper just prior to condensing

Typically I am not a fan of black licorice, but their are a few chai tea that I have had were I have enjoyed it. Red licorice is ok just not my go to candy. Could only imagine the chagrin if Jessy distilled some of Twizzlers flavored licorice like Hershey's chocolate, sweet&sour, key lime pie, lemon/ cherry filled, watermelon, Rainbow act.

Hi I was just trying to learn about distilling. Can you make some video(s) regarding equipment for beginners? Like I see a manufactures make different choices that are a lot. It is a bit hard to have a good understanding to start with equipment. Maybe look up some equipment manufacturer and visit them or tour their website as a video something like that? Thank you.

When it comes to licorice, I'm with Wesley Snipes in Passenger 57: ALWAYS BET ON BLACK!
For Erin, meme spirit inspiration for Halloween 2023: baseball cap with sunglasses on rim, Into the AM t-shirt, & a ZZ Topp beard & makes a concoction with the Airstill at the bench. Maybe a pumpkin candy whiskey???

It may not but at 3:00 I predict some very appropriate Bourbon Black. Thinking about the taste makes my mouth water.

I'll have to say Black Licorice. I find it predominantly more throughout the wide-range of spirits over Red Licorice. Now, anise is a plant with long stems and white flowers, and star anise is a fruit. The black licorice flavor comes from these. Generally you'll find this predominately in Absinthe, Aguardiente, Ouzo, Scotch, Xtabentun, Pernod, Mastika, Raki, and Sambuca. So in terms of distilling Black Licorice, it's already an established flavor across a field of different spirits. Yet, to actually use the Black Licorice candy, I'm interested to see if that comes through on the distillation. Personally, I'm going to say it likely doesn't come through all that much before I watch the video to find out.
