I was that person who got into fitness during the pandemic! I could never be consistent before but I had no excuse this time. I had so much free time and felt like I needed an outlet. Now 2.5 years later, I go to the gym 4 days a week and have never felt better. Both mentally and physically! I dread the thought of having to cut back if I have kids in the next few years. It’s done so much for my mental health.

I have noticed my mental health being really crap recently again and i have also gained A LOT of weight during the pandemic, so for the past few weeks, my dad and I have been going together on mile long walks in a local park just as a way to start our day and its been nice to both move and do the fitness aspect but also to spend time with my dad without any distractions

Please be very careful, a diastasis will usually go away withing a year postpartum on it's own and doing ab excersises can sometimes make it worse! The general advice is no ab training for six weeks pp, but in many cases the diastasis isn't gone after that time yet and it's good to wait longer. It's advised to go to a specialized physiotherapist for it if it doesn't go away after a few months pp. I'm a general physio(so not specialized in this) but have been told about it by colleagues. Good luck❤

This is perfect timing! I started the gym just over a year ago, was making amazing progress, really consistent etc but fell into a depressive episode in March and couldn't face anything let alone going to the gym. I've turned a corner recently and last week signed up to a new gym, eating mindfully again and can't wait to join in this journey with you both 😁💪💚
Thomas i agree with the posture thing, thats something I noticed improve when I first started weightlifting, my god did I used to slouch 😅

I am, for the first time ever, consistent at the gym. It all started when I took the pressure off myself, stopped worrying about how low my starting weights were. I pledged to move everyday - it didn't matter what form, just as long as I moved. Occasionally stretching turned into yoga turned into the gym once in a while turned into the gym consistently. I have muscles in my arms that I have never seen before.

About three years ago, I got super into my health and fitness and got to my fittest point ever. I maintained it for about a year and a half - then I got pregnant and felt too sick to workout. My baby is now 6 months old and I’m so ready to start properly exercising again (and not just doing goblet squats using the baby as a weight). Really keen to see more of this content from you!

I love this, I started my own fitness journey at the beginning of this month! After years of wanting to, knowing I need to, and not having the self-discipline to do it, I'm finally getting my shit together. I need to lost 50 pounds, and fixing my eating habits and working out is currently my main focus. Just in the past couple weeks I've been feeling so much more confident and proud of my decisions. It's really hard to not have an unhealthy relationship with fitness and your journey has genuinely been on my mind when I think about it, with everything you've talked about with having an eating disorder and trying to have a healthy relationship with exercise. Looking forward to following along with your journeys while I'm on mine!!!

This is awesome! I started my own fitness journey again a couple of weeks ago and am very proud to say that I have been able to keep it up every day since then--and enjoy it! At the same time I began keeping a regular sleeping schedule and waking schedule every day, and while sometimes I let myself spend a little more time in bed, for the most part that has been going really well too. And guess what? I feel good! Can't wait to go on this journey with you guys, I'm seriously cheering you on!

My husband and I, before kids, used to work out together (or at the same time). But then we had kiddos, and now we give each other the time to work out. Like "I'll give them dinner and put them down while you work out, then we can switch later!" We have to give each other that time, it's the only thing that works. If we ever want to run a 5k together, we get a babysitter. I love that you guys are doing this-- and giving parents ideas on how to do it realistically!

I love this sooo much. I am not someone who is remotely inspired by people at their peak, especially when it seems to come naturally to them. This is the stuff that inspires me. Watching two people work hard, be honest about their experience, and show that most people don't have A fitness journey... They have MANY fitness journeys, at all stages of life.

Let's do this!!! I'm joining you in this fitness journey. I got really fit during pandemic as I had lots of free time and that lasted up until 2022. Then life got busier with moving houses, working two jobs 7 days a week and working out was just not on the to do list anymore. And to think I used to go to the gym in the morning and hiking in the afternoon 😢. Specially now that the weather is getting better I feel more motivated to go for walks outside and as soon as I leave one of my jobs I'll finally have days off which I plan on using them for gym and going building good habits again.
I would love to see updates from you to get some motivation 💪🏻💚

I so needed this video! I was so fit during the peak of the pandemic because I had so much time on my hands to go for runs and exercise. Once college got going again I fell off my fitness path. As I have recently finished my degree I want to take the time for myself to get back into fitness and luckily my boyfriend is super supportive and wants to be my fitness buddy!
