The power of words to control our emotions can be therapeutic to our mental health;
✅ “I'm here for you.”
✅ “You are not alone.”
✅ “You are worthy and deserving.”
✅ “You don't have to apologize.”
✅ “There is treatment available to you…”
✅ “You are strong!.”

I suffer from bipolar disorder. There are times that I experienced cyclical remission through music and motivational inspirational speech I was able to survive every stage of my cyclical depression. Inside Serene is my alter ego - my trusted friend a gatekeeper of my pandora's box of mindfulness that helps me overcome mental struggles.

" We must be willing to encounter darkness and despair when they come up and face them, over and over again if need be, without running away or numbing ourselves in the thousands of ways we conjure up to avoid the unavoidable". - By Jon Kabat-Zinn

It took me a few years, maybe more to warm up to this special & iconic human being. I kept switching out of these videos before I realized how very much I have to learn about myself,& others. Something about him kept calling me back & REALLY LISTEN. Now, so glad for the whatever that something was... May we all find the answers & realizations that we are searching for & the deep healing we need.

I feel seen more than ever before listening to this take on addiction. I wish beyond my own happiness that my family could hear these words. I feel like I am starting on a whole new page with so much happening over the last year I don’t know where to even go from here.

I've seen a lot of his talks and they're all pretty good but also fairly repetitive...this is very fresh and really cuts to the deepest heart of the mater. Really worth watching.

I DO wish that so many film clips weren't inserted... I'd rather watch Dr Mate right through while I listen. The clips are a distraction.

With regards to cancer, in the late Louise L. Hay's book "You Can Heal Your Life," under "Probable Cause" for cancer it states: Deep hurt. Long standing resentment. Deep secret or grief eating away at the self. Carrying hatreds. "What's the use?" Under "New Thought Pattern": I lovingly forgive and release all of the past. I choose to fill my world with joy. I love and approve of myself." When someone has cancer, they need to also ask themselves, "What's eating me?"

Looking back on a marriage to someone that self medicated. I am grateful for what I learned in the 24 yr marriage his relapse/recovery. Without the addiction I would have never come to my own awareness that his trauma was not mine to hold. Dr M speaks truth & has a higher understanding TY

WOW!!! for past year or so I've been taking against the word 'survivor' but couldn't explain properly why I didn't like it. I can't wholly get my head around Gabor's explanation of why it's not an OK description, but I'm getting nearer to understanding why it's not a good descriptor.

Sleep guided meditation wholeheartedly works to experience this "enlightenment" "awareness" Eureka or ah-ha moment. I experienced a spectrum of feelings from ecstatic to betrayal, dumbfounded, and content. Fluctuation of touch and go, fading in and out from awareness then pulled back to old way of thinking, back and forth. 4 nights just listening to YouTube sleep guided meditation videos while sleeping. I woke and no longer suffered from my lifelong debilitating anxiety. With a handful of pills, which I would take by a systematic alarm, I no longer needed,and desired. That is when I felt betrayed, the fact that it was that easy, that I created a hardship making me believe I was addicted.
