fallen angels — the frenetic, sprawling, and melancholic experience that wong kar wai provided viewers with to give them a sense of comfort in their times of alienation. never forget the first time I saw this. it spoke to me in a way few things have. years later, the blurry images that rush over the screen are still clear in my mind.
