you’re not wasting your teenage years. teen movies glamorize teenhood. everyone’s life is different and teenhood is just one small part of life. we have our whole lives ahead of us. Don’t put too much pressure on the present. whatever happens, happens. hey we also had to go through a pandemic. be easy on yourself :)))))

Did you stand there all alone?
Oh I cannot explain what's going down
I can see you standing next to me
In and out somewhere else right now
You sigh, look away
I can see it clear as day
Close your eyes, so afraid
Hide behind that baby face
Do do do do do do
You can drive all night
Looking for answers in the pouring rain
You wanna find peace of mind
Looking for the answer
Funny how it seems like yesterday
As I recall you were looking out of place
Gathered up your things and slipped away
No time at all I followed you into the hall
Cigarette daydream
You were only seventeen
Soft speak with a mean streak
Nearly brought me to my knees
Do do do do do do
You can drive all night
Looking for the answers in the pouring rain
You wanna find peace of mind
Looking for the answer
If we could find a reason, a reason to change
Looking for the answer
If you could find a reason, a reason to stay
Standing in the pouring rain
Do do do do do do
You can drive all night
Looking for answers in the pouring rain
You wanna find peace of mind
Looking for the answer
If we could find a reason, a reason to change
Looking for the answer
If you could find a reason, a reason to stay
Standing in the pouring rain

This movie made me really cry because of the emotion and feeling like someone knew me (as an awkward introvert who doesn’t really fit in and only a couple of friends and never truly feels like they fit in) and it was a long time since I’d truly cried. Thank you for this edit that perfectly captures the movie in a couple minute video!

This movie came out when I was 14/15, me and my highschool friends watched this together. I'm 22 now. Let me tell you, from that day on I started embracing my youth. I've gone camping and had bonfires with them, travelling to my friend's resthouse while the car window's open. During blackouts we go outside to race, we biked around, and played in the rain.
In college I made sure to always see them for coffee and once in a while we would travel to a certain province (here in the Philippines). Going on boat rides, playing in the beach, and walking in rice fields. On Tuesdays we have this youth group, where after the session we would go to our mentor's house to dance and eat together.
I had a great teenage life, and at 22 honestly my youth isn't over yet. Different priorities, an older wisdom, but always young at heart. You have time, guys.
