This show was such a good representation of how real life Victim’s stories are abused by mainstream media - perfect example… Dahmer.

The fact that the award Davis gets is in the shape of a mask is another level of depth this show always gives. Such a great show.

The creepiest part was the little laugh when she looked at the photos in the shoebox. Like looking at happy memories. This haunted me for days...

For me the scene showing the for- part of the suicide note intends to lead the viewer to believe that the mom might be writing "forgive me" to her son. The scene of him showing what the note actually says in the ending part is him reflecting on the fact that his mom didn't regret any of her actions.

I liked the fact that in the start and throughout the episode the mother is shown very old fashioned and sort of conservative, just to make the ending more unexpected when you do find about her past.

At the end in the bar a few people are seen wearing the red masks, similar to how people will dress up as serial killers for Halloween (Jeffrey dahmer). It showed how true crime can go from interesting and informative to capitalizing off someone’s trauma

The twist in this episode was incredible. I have not been this blown away by a Black Mirror ending since “Shut up and Dance”!

this is a great way of showing how all these dramatized documentaries are numbing the fuck out of us, we think these creators care, but all they care for are the awards and accolades

The scene where the note is revealed is so chilling to me. I was honestly thinking Davis’s mom would’ve written something out of regret like “forgive me” or “I’m sorry.” But the fact that she just writes “for your film,” to her son with multiple torture tapes and then just kills herself after is so creepy to me. It looks like she never even really regretted it. It’s like her murderous tendencies and mentality never left her.

I think the episode truly showcases the darkest and most selfish aspects of all the characters: 1. Janet wants his son to gain fame for all the horrible things she and her husband committed but suicides so her son deals with it alone. 2. Davis still accepts the offer and the award for the movie, though he is clearly ashamed of his parents. 3. Pia loves Davis, but still suggests they shot a documentary about the murders and make a lot of money, though she realizes it hurts the feelings of Davis and his mom. 4. Richard knew something was wrong with Janet and his husband, but still chose not to dig anything up, because he was afraid he might be associated with them, and after the story gets public, his pub will lose customers. 5. Though Stuart cares for Davis, he cares more about the pub and thus is happy that the pub is overbooked. I think the true magic of the episode is that there are no good characters here and everyone acts selfishly, caring about wealth or fame more than their loved ones.

I think you all missing the scary/sad point of the end note. Because it wasn't Davis idea to do this film. He wanted to do the film on the egg man. So it hurts him even more to see that his mom wrote "for your film". He is left thinking "what if i did just do the documentary on the egg man”

Did anyone else get the vibe that, after he read his note from his mom and saw the mask award, that maybe he had this weird sadistic nature in him too? I say this bc when he was telling Pia in bed about how his father died, he was hard... i thought that was a very strange connection. Maybe things are finally making sense for him now?

This episode kept me on the edge of my seat. The actors are great and it was very well written. Kinda made me feel guilty as a true crime fan

Did no one else notice Stuart accidentally name dropping 'Netflix' instead of 'Streamberry' in one of the early bar scenes? 😂

Loch Henry was one of the best episodes of Black Mirror I've ever seen, and I've seen them all. The revelation at the end was absolutely chilling. When Janet walks into the "Kill Room" with the mask, drill, and nurse's outfit, I thought it was the epitome of creepy and horror. Thanks for pointing out all the Easter eggs 👍

I really loved how dark and gritty this season was, outside of Joan is awful( which I love btw) it felt more grounded somewhat. Solid season.

Pia is literally the “curiosity killed the cat” character.

I love this episode the most. Besides the brillant storytelling and the plot twist it also felt like a huge FU to Netflix regarding their recent true crime trend
