I loved that we didn't get an evil stepmother for a change.

I really liked that they didn't give the prince some piss poor excuse for a redemption ark where everything was forgiven.

The dragon would actually be worshipped in Elodies home town. She can produce the heat they desperately need. She wouldn’t fear having children there if she could have more they would all be deeply loved and respected

The king never says a word throughout the whole movie... I'm sure he screamed in silence while being burnt at the end as well. 😂

i liked how elodie called her stepmother mother at the end, a small detail that might be overlooked

Elodie and the dragon are both similarly designed by the end. They both have kind of simialr injuries by the end, with even elodie's dress remnanats resembling the dragon's scales.

The ceremony with the fancy dress for the sacrifices might have a secondary function: the corset and fabric would likley make it pretty hard for most of them to run from the dragon

I salute how the prince handled and accepted his fate as he should, I like that he realize that he has no excuse to be alive.

I'm actually really impressed with how fun this movie was. A lot of the "subversive" and "new takes" on things don't actually do anything new. I love how this one actually did something.

I did expect for the dragon (or the monsters/creature as Netflix advertised) to have a deeper lore than just "being something evil". And WHAT I absolutely loved is that the dragon (who is a mother) help Elodie take revenge on people who killed innocent daughters, just as her dragon babys have been innocent. Also Elodie said how much she wished she could talk to her mother about all of this, clearly missing her mother (someone who understands her on a deeper level), even though she does love her stepmother as well, finding a companion in a mother who lost her daughters. The way the dragon later on flies over Elodie when she leaves the castle in a protective manner and follows her over the sea tells me, she put on a protective role over Elodie and perhaps her sister as well, maybe even in a way of her own redemption in now saving the one girl who saved her — even from herself. Both searched something and both got it. I did enjoy the movie and loved how none of the whole douchebag family survived and met their deserving end xDD Also every girl here helped each other or showed genuine joy to see each other like the first "wife" of the prince and Elodie. I lowkey hoped she'd survive long enough for Elodie to find and perhaps save her as well. I think those two would have had a great dynamic! overall very enjoyable movie!!

I like to think that the Dragon will help keep Elodie's homeland warm through the rest of the freeze. 🐲🔥

i love how the women that helped her get dressed added little knicks to help her after the sacrifice. the lamp, and the knife. i loved watching the dressing scene to later watch it all reverse back slowly.

Having now watched it a second time (this time with my daughter)... I will say that when asked by the Queen at the end if Elodie expected them to fear her now, it would have been mor powerful if she held up her palm with the cut on it and said "No, I told her the truth. You should fear her." This would have perfectly bookended their earlier conversation where Elodie said her strongest virtue was honesty, and the Queen told her honesty 'could be' a weakness.

I like how the dragons fire is more lava like in the movie.

It was a proper way to do a female hero arc. Rather than making her a boss babe with strength and speed she relied on her wits and brains. And she went through a growth rather than being bad ass from the beginning.

Eleven, Enola and now Elodie? Must be Millie's lucky letter lol. I love this film. I hope they will make a prequel with V.
